Looked a bad injury. Wouldn't wish injury on anyone (apart from G*llas and that cock Rio) and I'd hope nobody here would but from a selfish point of view if Bale is out for the rest of the season which it looks the case on that showing, that would massively boost ours (and Arsenal's chances) of getting CL Football. Even with Bale it would have been tough but without him they may struggle against the small teams as well big teams. Regarding us, best Europa League performance we've had by a mile, the referee ruined what should have been a procession and U-21's out in Moscow. If we score I am very confident we will still go through, we will need to play a strong back line with Lampard and Mikel sitting. I think we're far more likely than Spurs or Newcastle to progress, looks like we will be flying the flag for England yet again
wouldn't wish it on him but it's very good news as far as I'm concerned, over the ****ing moon if I'm honest.
Selfishly yeah but it's got me worrying about our own now, can't help but think if the same happens to Mata it's curtains. Sunderland are definitely going into that game playing for 0-0 to kick lumps out of us.
course, I'd be distraught if Mata gets crocked. I actually would prefer Tottenham to get top four over Arsenal if I'm honest but I'll take injuries to any of their key players all day long since we're fighting three competitions more or less.
If AVB wasn't there I'd probably be the same but I have mixed feelings about both. Chelsea winning a trophy would appease the fans, even moreso if Mourinho comes back but if Arsenal or Spurs miss out heads will roll. Spurs need CL next season (and possibly the one after) to have any hope of keeping Bale. Once he is 25, if he's not in the CL or at the top level he will go to Real. All we need to do is beat Sunderland to ensure we are not cut adrift by the time Arsenal play Everton and also keep 3rd in our hands.
how bad was Lennons injury, really cant remember when they both didn't play for Spurs and Spurs won comfortably
I agree totally with this (and just said the same on another thread) , it would be soooooo much sweeter. We should always beat other teams because we are good enough to do that, not just rely on the other team being crap due to players out due to injuries, illness, etc.
Well at least you guys had the decency not to come onto our board and gloat about it. Arsenal fans didn't either but no prizes for guessing which team's fans lacked any level of class about the whole thing. Hopefully Lennon was just taken off as a precaution, he was still running around after he'd asked to be taken off. As for Bale, it's a blow but it's only for one league game and sometimes losing a player like that can lead to a more balanced side.
You already know my views on that subject so I refuse to be drawn into it by you. My point was that beating a team of full strength players is so much better than beating them because they are in a bad state. That's not what football is all about for me. I enjoy a good game of football and of course winning is the ultimate pleasure. Winning a crap game doesn't give anywhere near that pleasure for me.
