With their win last night the Hornets will have their tails up and looking to beat us on their home turf. The last league game against us saw them lose a 0-1 lead due in no small part to the 2 red cards (Pudil and Chalobah). So it's all set up to be a fiery encounter with Malky once again returning to his old stomping ground. Will he select the same starting 11 a he did against Blackburn or revert to the grind em out team? We will see.
That was a fabilous result at Hull for Watford. if it was us we would have been ecstatic for sure. We go to Watford and a draw would be acceptable, as we follow that with three home games, where in my opinion we will clinch promotion. The table looks good, make no mistake Hull should be the worried ones. Cardiff 39 24 78 Hull 40 10 71 Watford 40 25 70
Apologies Taff, started a similiar thread at the same time. That was a fabilous result at Hull for Watford. if it was us we would have been ecstatic for sure. I reckon it will be a draw and the final table will have you on 89 points and Watford and Hull each on about 80 Eleven points from the other 6 games guarantees you Premiership football even if you lose against Watford. If you draw you will need only 8 points from those 6 If you win you are home and dry needing just 5 points from 6 games
i anticipate a close game that we'll go out not to go gung ho but instead to keep things tight...... We are getting a fantastic return on our investment in campbell, heâs paying us back with interest. I think weâll score first, but I wont panic if watford do, weâve got the players to bail us out. I donât think players like taylor have been getting the credit they should have been extended recently. The interest rate in this game for both sides will be huge, with both sides gunning for promotion. so i reckon udinese B 1-1 cardiff.
Big ask for Watfraud to complete the double against the top 2, but I fear the worst on this one. They showed last night how they can put a gameplan in place and make it work, and the home advantage should tip it for them. The only thing in our favour is their dire need to win this one, they actually have nothing to lose by going all out to win this one, not as if they will drop out of the playoffs, and that might give us the chances we need to at least secure a draw, which would be a good result for us, not so great for them.
Dunno if the gameplan was that effective SBFF as MOTM was a Welsh U19 goalkeeper for Watford And anyway we already know Welsh keepers throw the ball into their own net in big matches against us
I think the gameplan was effective due to the 0-1 scoreline, keepers are there for a reason, now and then they make MotM.
If you're going with Udinese then please remember that Granada got Udinese B so that makes us only Udinese C .and if you want a nom de plume how about "foreigners" for welsh Cardiff Watford are better away from home than at home so we expect this to be really a tough one Also I am not expecting us to play win or bust - a draw is fine for us - Hull are taking it in turns to win and lose a game so they could get another 9 points. We could easily get 10 from our 6 games - one from you and 9 from five others is well within our average points
I've been thinking - you guys really should want to lose to us - if you win then promotion and the title is almost certainly yours with 7 games to go - what a let down that would be - why not lose a couple just to make things interesting so that on the last day of the season you can go to Hull in a game with something to play for - just a thought
Leonardo, Bob Dylan (Robert Zimmerman) took his name from one Dylan Thomas. That I'm sure you know! What you may not know is that DT was a big Cardiff City fan...true! Under Milk Wood was originally Under The Canton Stand at my beloved Ninian!
Just wondering if any one has any spare tickets for tommorow as I'm in the west london area? In box me and I be more than happy to come and meet. Cheers
London - looks like tickets are rarer than hens' teeth. We could have sold our allocation twice over.
Reading today that Whitts is likely to return to replace the injured Campbell in a 4 -5 -1 formation. Kim Bo Whitts Gunner Mutch Conway Bellamy
Yes, I saw that in Eggo on Line as well. Lazy journalism or just trying to provoke argument. If the latter they succeeded. We played a very fluid 4 - 5 - 1 on Monday with Bellers covering right mid field and supporting Campbell. If Campbell not fit then why not simply replace him with Joe Mason. Joe isn't so strong in the air (and neither is Bellers) so why not play the ball more on the ground as we did a few times earlier in the season? Joe's movement, pace and running the channels can certainly upset them I just hope Malky doesn't revert to his tried and trusted (and sometimes failing) Helguson, Cowie and Smith, total ages 97!!!
