For what it is worth this "ferdinand was racially abused" argument is doing a huge disservice to anti racism. It seems that some people have decided this to get headlines. It is very similar to those who claimed spurs fans calling each other and spurs players "yiddo's" was anti semetic and claiming it encouraged racists to attack spurs fans in Europe.

There may be a valid discussion about why the chanting against ferdinand was distasteful and about why we spurs fans may be wrong but to accuse people of racism to make cheap points is plainly unhelpful and belittles the very real and damaging effects of racism.

EVERY club has it section of **** fans that may also be racist...this thread has been kind of turned into a "chelsea fans are racist scum" thread and as far as I am concerned that is cheap and tasteless wumming.

Dont get me wrong I think all things chelsea are ****ish but not racist <laugh> (can't have people thinking I actually like you lot)

Groundhog day again it seems. Not that it has anything to do with the OP but there was never enough evidence to secure a conviction though it's probable he said it. The court's words.

they definitely did not say that.

At least Rio has come out and publically against the bonfire song, so I guess Man Utd fans won't be singing it any more :emoticon-0112-wonde

that's what's made me laugh, it was a song long before this whole debacle. journos need to get a ****ing grip, so out of touch with football fans in untrue.

Powar: Coconut. Elliot: ******. Ferdinand: Choc-ice. No problem.
England fans: Nothing overtly racist. Bigots. <ok>

Acquitted/Not guilty same **** move on Pikey!

You're telling me to move on when you're arguing about the same issue throughout the thread.

Noone is saying he is a racist, to do so would be silly, but the details of the not guilty verdict in addition to an independent FA panel deciding he probably said what he did means it's stupidity, blind loyalty or both to bury your head in the sand forever.

<doh> I rest my case

There's more science in the probability of quantum mechanics than there is in an 'independent' FA panel. Infact, the FA could could be used as an infinite improbability drive in a spaceship from HHGTTG.

They're not actually so improbable.

The best liar is one who lies 50% of the time, so you can never know the truth. If you always lie, you just get the truth by the opposite of what the liar says.

The FA get about 90% of decisions wrong, so they are quite consistent albeit with a negative result. For example with the McManaman tackle the whole world was expecting a ban. The FA's response seems random if you were naively expecting them to do the right thing, but is perfectly in line with their actual remit of ****ing things up to the best of their ability.

+1 <ok>

Why not turn your fans vindictive on a crappy politician instead! Anybody from the Tory Party and Nigel Farage for starters would have supporters of other clubs applauding you for your wit and sharpness. Why not start this against Manchester United tomorrow!! Boris is a w*****, repeat, particularly as he is giving so much taxpayers money to help West Ham move into the Olympic Stadium!!
