    Anyone tipped Mark Hughes yet?

The biggest mystery of this for me is why they didn't do it sooner.

The sacking doesn't surprise me but like above can't understand why it took so long. I quite like MON but he is a pretty basic old school manager with few 'plan Bs'. He's also hyped up quite a lot by the media when barring Celtic he hasn't really done that well as a manager. Sunderland have spent a lot of money on top of 'supposedly' having a premier squad to start with and they can't score goals even with Sessignon and Fletcher. I rate Fletcher highly and was surprised he went t.o Sunderland and not a bigger club.

Add to that Johnson who I was surprised to see the analysts tonight highlight what I have said for years, in that he tries to show off at every opportunity rather than do what he SHOULD do for his team and that's gonna be a problem.

Then you have the handling of a very good left winger's social media adventures and it all boils down to a team that are not really on terms with each other.

A lot of good players there but I can envisage several 'cliques' within the camp.

McLaren is a good shout as Midds is pretty local. Di Matteo won't go there, he'll get a much better job IMO. Lot of pressure on Sunderland and I don't think they'll ever reach the owner's ambitions.

If they drop then they will definitely regret it.

Can't be right .... Magilton & Ipswich are a match made in heaven - neither would threaten to break that bond.

Yep, why not..? Nothing less than an explosion of passion and fight is going to save them now. It would also be bloody interesting.

Would make a lot more sense to me than McClaren. I just would not understand appointing McClaren.

They have the players Sunderland. They just need to be kicked into life.

Yeah, Villa took it as him saying they would go down - he said he was just saying their support is bad.

I guess that was... You lot [Swindon fans] are right up there [high level hand gesture]. They [Aston Villa] are down there [points to ground] that is, the pits.

Rafa when he becomes available at the end of his tenure at Chelsea. An intelligent move would be for Jupp Heynkes, current Bayern coach!!

David Miliband has resigned from Sunderland's board due to "Di Canio's past political statements".

Either the best or worst decision that board will ever make.
