With only poor fare on Saturday at least there has been an opportunity to study Wincantons Sundat card and I have found one I like the look of in the form of OSCAR PRAIRIE 16-1 3.55. Dropped to 3lb below his last winning mark and his second to Gevrey Chambertin in January reads pretty well. The most inexperienced pilot in the race gets him an extra 10lbs off his back and that looks likely to give him a fair chance. It will be interesting to see if he attracts any market support!

I wanted to get one up early at Lingfield.

Lingfield
3.10 The Absent Mare 14-1 EW

This horse is a fantastic price and it should be taken if having a punt as I feel it may go off lower than 10's. I feel she has a good chance as she is the only horse coming down in grade since her last run, where as the top two in the betting are moving up in grade. The absent mare is also 7lb better off with Lamadas (who is half the price) for just over a head beating two runs back in this grade. The last reason is that from 28/2 to the 29/3 she ran three times on the all weather, finishing 2nd twice and then winning, so she does well this time of year. If there is a negative she is still 4ib higher than that victory but that aside as she has run well near this mark already I feel 14-1 is very generous and should her 8 rivals stand their ground is an each-way value bet.

best of luck to all <ok>

One worry I'd have about yours Blue is there looks a serious lack of pace in the race and it may not be run at a good clip to suit The Absent Mare. Other than that she definitely looks overpriced and in with a good shout

E/W Lucky 15 for today

LINGFIELD 16:10 HANDICAP
Als Memory @ 6/1 (GP)

WINCANTON 16:25 HANDICAP CHASE 2m 5f
Shuil Royale @ 6/1 (GP)

CURRAGH 16:30 IRISH LINCOLN (4YO+) 1m
Sweet Lightning @ 10/1 (GP)

CURRAGH 15:00 HANDICAP (3YO+) 6f
Battleroftheboyne @ 8/1 (GP)

Good luck lads. Wincanton isn't interesting enough for me to part with my pennies but the Curragh has a few interesting types running. Tommy Stack and Jim Bolger are the ones to follow at this time of year.

One for me today in the big race:

4:30 Curragh - Anton Chigurh 15/2.

Will love the ground and surely will go close.

Good luck all!

Now a Non- Runner

Irish Lincoln is a toss up for me between Anton Chigurh and Inis Meain with the latter possibly getting the nod as its fitness is assured. Both will love the ground and look very progressive handicappers.

4:30 Irish Lincoln: Susiescott 28/1 e.w looks the interesting bet to me if you were to have one. She does have a bit to find but I notive a few Verglas horses looking okay as they get older (Think of handicap improvers like Las Verglas Star, Grandeur another who has/is improving with racing, and others like Tropical Paradise and Leahurst). The great thing is they all seem to relish a bit of cut in the ground and sneaking in off bottom weight, she looks ideally suited to run a career best. She gets every yard of the mile and in a fast run contest like this, I can see her running on nicely late on. For our sake, hopefully to get in the prizemoney. One to perhaps keep an eye on.

As for the rest of the day, its difficult to tip up newcomers and the market does speak so they are a watching brief.

However, one horse I fancy to show improved form this season is Jim Bolgers REHNS NEST 8/1 in the 3.30 and interestingly his career best to date (IMO) was on heavy ground, in front of an Aiden O'Brien decent sorts and in the mix against some listed-level horses, so any improvement from him this year should see him land a listed level race at some point.

afternoon folks.accumalator for me today;little jimmy and one connemara to win at wincanton and birds eye view and yellow rosebud to win at the curragh.

That Snowden horse is going to be a nice sort when he becomes experienced. He hasn't beaten anything but he looks so green in his run.

Stick, did you see the Arbuthnot horse earlier? So unlucky as they seemed to be aiming to land a touch.
