The only worrying thing is he's on 9 bookings for the season already, one more and he's out for 2 matches...

I never realised he'd gotten that many bookings. He never seems to put in bad challenges.
Good chance he will miss the derby which will probably be a good thing.

Made this point after Sunday in my assessment of players. Been useless this season and needs a kick up the arse. Perch has been excellent.

We talking about the same Tiote that last season we wouldn't sell for £20M? That's some serious fickle ****.

Tiote is still a monster. If you were an opposition player who would you rather go into a 50/50 ball against? Tiote or Perch? The whole team haven't been good this season so singling out Tiote is a little harsh. People complain about Tiote's yellows but it's his job to break up play especially when teams counter against us, sometimes he takes a card for the team. Perch still holds the record for 5 yellows for first 5 appearances. In answer to the OP, Tiote all day everyday.

Tiote is our biggest liability at present along with Santon. I've defended him for a long time for the exact reasons you mention, last season and the one previous he was great for us. Yes he has always had disciplinary problems, but the difference was he could actually pass the ball and not get caught in possession constantly. So you took the rough with the smooth.

He has been absolute gash this season though. He can't pass the ball 5 yards and is giving the opposition 2 chances a game by simply being outmuscled and caught in possession. You can't pick teams based on assumptions, past reputations etc. We can't afford to handicap the rest with some warped sentimentality about him. He'll probably buck his ideas up as a result. you only have to look at the likes of Man U with Rooney etc.

I think it may just be complacency on his part. Not fickle at all by Tash, just an honest assessment of his current woeful season.

Think santon will make a cracking winger. Once haidarra is fit and fully up to speed I would play santon instead if jonas.

I was underwhelmed last season too. Seem to remember that after all the difficulties getting him back in the country for preseason and the fitness and knee issues his form was patchy and I was disappointed then. Was hoping he'd step it up this season, having shown what he could do in his first, but unfortunately he's been even worse. I agree - it really is terrible watching him at the moment. His passing is poor 9 times out of 10 whether he's playing it long or short and he's gained an unfortunate habit of being caught in possession and being brushed off of the ball with ease in dangerous positions. This has happened several times in each of the last couple of games... He needs to get back to getting rid of the ball as soon as he's won possession.

I'm fairly certain by next season Tiote will be back to his best and everyone will have a new player who's gone from brilliant to ****e in the space of 6 months. Reminds me very much of just after the Reading game when everyone was calling for the current Premier League manager of the year to be sacked. :emoticon-0118-yawn:

Now that is fickle for me. Pardew hasn't had his best season but I have always been in the camp of giving managers genuine time. I don't think he has had that yet. If you never give managers a chance to learn from their mistakes over a long period you'll be forever searching for something which doesn't exist.

I don't think many are saying sell Tiote though which makes it entirely different. Its simply about re-motivating him to bring his A game by bringing in someone who has performed significantly better over the course of the season. I actually think Tiote still brings something to the party when he plays like he has this season. He still breaks down play well. The point is Perch has been doing that and finding a black and white shirt. I think dropping Tiote for even one game and telling him why will be enough for it to log in. The problem I see is complacency, simple because he achieved hero status over his initial period at the club. Rightly so but you have to keep performing. A few bad games can be overlooked but you can count his good games this season on one hand which is worrying.

i am prepared to risk my life and headbutt tiote for motivation

*headbutt"
"PLAY"
"BETTER"
*Kick*
"NOW"

I will then run for my life and live in a bomb shelter forever.

But if you stick your nut on Tiote you'd surely die before you could utter those words?

At the moment, Perch deserves to be in front of the team on the strength of current displays. I don;t think that is being fickle towards Tiote, but it seems that when he is fit, he is an automatic choice in the first 11. That has got to lead to some complacency on his part. I would put Anita in front of Tiote as well. He needs soem time out of the first time in order to re-discover his form and desire, and then maybe we will again have the same player as his first season when he was such a monster.
