I see another forum site called JUST ANOTHER 606 has started up and I bet it attracts all the old WUM's, which is not a bad thing for those on not606 as I know the majority on here like to just chat do you think there should be one place to cross swords with the blue few and not606 not being involved in the WUMing and being a bit more highbrow?
 
I read this site because it seems less antagonistic and less low brow than most places... so far. I want to talk SFC and just SFC. Other teams interest me less.
 
I had a look at JA 606 tonight and in my opinion it looks great.......not as many users as this site of course but it feels like the old bbc site
 
I have signed up for the last 2 days and it is fantastic! I will not be on here much longer...

However, I posted a thread on the subject already, which got deleted. And I posted a link to the site on the chatbox last night, which temporarily got me banned...

Golden Boot. I'm not going to be bothered if you leave. The sooner the better after seeing a comment like that. Like a 10 year old kid.

I signed up to ja606, but I never really like the old 606 format anyway so this one is my first option, due to the fact there's more on offer on this site. I'll probably use both tbh.
 
At the moment I think I will use both sites, not 606 has some top posters on here and I always look for certain names to see what they have to say. My only reservation about not606 is the hug a skate policy on here, on the old 606 some of the best debates were when Saints fans and skates were scratching and clawing toe to toe with each other
That sort of oneupmanship brings out the best wit and greatest cutting remarks which they way the moderators have been asked to police not606 I fear that will be lost on here!
 
So instead of arguing about the merits of different football clubs we start arguing about the merits of different message boards and in the process start to get personal!

This board suit me fine just like the Saints suit me fine.

This is a message board for the more mature, refined, articulate, thoughtful, and well balanced supporter. It is for those who wish to indulge in intelligent debate on the subject of their pasion for all things to do with Saints. From the very well thought through threads you can see the very high high reading age of the authors and no doubt many of them would qualify for MENSA.

We even have our own good guy in Beddytare who makes sure we are nice to everyone even those who support the wrong local football club who at one time used to be our rivals!

If you wish to read or make infantile, foul mouthed, prejudiced, unintelligent and confused comments go to The Portsmouth News Website. Mind out though for you will not be allowed to contribute if you have an IQ in double figures.
 
That's why I like this site you have the likes of Godders on here posting things worth reading, even when he's shooting me down he's a joy to read

I like this site more. Much more personalised with the banner at the top and the ability to have signatures and avatars. Less WUMs on here too, just good old discussion about the only club I care for, Saints. You can also edit your posts and quote other posters. This site is far superior.<ok>

NOT606 will be my first choice.
 
Strange one really. The thing that made 606 popular wasn't really it's layout. Ultimately the 'best' site will be the one that can attract the most members long term (ie not just migrating from 606), and the best way to do that is sensible advertising and keeping the site material fresh. So we will have to wait and see...
 
I really like this site. It allows me the freedom to post without the pathetic moderation of the original site. It has attracted the more thoughtful posters, and has not attracted those who simply want to pick a fight and resort to personal and abusive comments. They are welcome to find a different site. Our mods to a great job of getting them to "shape up or ship out."

As for the "hug a skate" attitude, that depends what you mean. I enjoy banter with some of their number and never miss an opportunity to make a joke at Pompey's expense. I have been able to suggest that a Pompey poster on our board is a self-pleasurer without the mods being troubled at all. More than once, in fact. It's a question of doing it in a witty and entertaining way.

Finally, the ignore function means that you can completely avoid the posts of those that you find tiresome or dull or both, even amongst our own fans if you wish! :)

Thats just how it should be.......you can have fun .....Banter.....even an argument........but with out getting personal and without insulting comments. What could be easier, as the saying goes "the pen is mightier than the sword".

"The Pen is mightier than the sword?" That's true, unless you are in a fencing tournament. That Bill Spokeshave could certainly wax lyrical!

Mind you, when it comes to certain blue crooner trios, I think we do not need to bother with the space separating the second and third words......<laugh>
