The flat season is nearly upon us - how do we know this? because King Kieren has dusted off his whip, polished his boots and filled up the car with petrol. His destination is Kempton and I think he may have a winner, although it's not my most hopeful selection from the meeting. Also of note is that Tom Queally is also in action at the track, will he find another star to keep him in the spotlight or will he just spend the season wondering where all the cameras have gone?

2.50 Quality Art 5-2
This horse is fitted with blinkers tomorrow and I think it is just what he needs. He is drawn wide which is obviously a worry but as there is no cut away for the 5f races and the filed is not that big it could be a blessing, allowing him to storm home down the outside.
4.50 Broughtons Bandit 10-3
This is Kieren's mount and as long as he is not just there for a pipe opener (him, not the horse) he could have a winner. This horse always runs well and Fallon should suit him well getting him wound up from a good way out and getting there in the last 20 yards.
5.20 Mack's Sister 12-1 EW
This is an interesting race where by if you take the favourite as being the worthy market leader everything else behind has roughly a similar chance in my opinion, it's for this reason that I think 12's is too big for Macks Sister who is very consistent and is a very good Each way bet.

A quiet day where the best action happens at Navan.

The first race is short on numbers and looks a match between Suntiep and Bonisland. Market confidence is certainly behind the Elliot runner and for me the best bet here is a forecast. Bonisland to beat Suntiep.

At Southwell i'm keen on Hodgson in the first for a combination that does extremely well when they go to Southwell. The 5th last time out to Well Refreshed looks like a decent run to me even though Timeform disagree. A reapplied tongue tie could be the catalyst today and i'm keen to keep him onside at 7/1.

Dontpaytheferryman should run well in the 3.40 at 5/2.

In the bumper Moonlight Dreamer is the each way selection at 10/1 who is fairly well related in context and carries comparatively nothing. A really interesting runner.

Good to see that Heis got back in one piece, did you ever get to see a horse running in your three days at Cheltenham?

Was good to put a face to the name, and thank you for the kind gift, I must get Reebs address to send him his!!!

I haven't backed anything today, the fields in the NH races are too small. Save my money for Donny and Newbury this weekend.
 
Also, just recieved news that the Racing Post are doing a reminder system in the not too distant future, which for me is going to revolutionise the way I have to read and record racing form. No more gg.com or ATR reminders, if all goes to plan.
 
Came on last night to put up Bonisland at 13/8, couldnt believe it wasnt fav, but there was no daily thread.

Other two I like are The Four Elms 11/1 and My Murphy 11/1.

Very disappointing animal he is, I though he was a cheltenham horse earlier in the season but just looks an average arsechaser now, he couldnt even beat a horse id never heard of last time when 3rd behind Ballycasey.

It's amazing how much these animals improve/decline in the space of a season. Obviously Hunt Ball was a massive improver last season. Anyone know of similar stories of improvement/decline?
 
3.45 Fergiethelegend 3/1

looks a good bet to me, the fav won an egg and spoon bumper last time and is priced up on his trainers name, dont think Colm Murphys horses are in top form so Fergiethelegend looks the value call, there has been money about for him in his last few runs and I think that was a decent maiden he ran second in last time, hes well up to winning an average maiden.

Just backing up his stablemate. It was a shocking ride, rather than looking round he should be getting stuck into the horse :biggrin:
