From his lunchtime press conference all the key players are fit (Diarra is still out though) and he has a moan about only two games in March. Hopefully the last two weeks off has given him time to work out a âMaster Planâ for tomorrow. The way spurs have been playing such a high back four in the games against Liverpool and Milan, it would be tempting to say, play Hugo for his pace to get behind them. Unfortunately I donât believe he has the guile to beat the off-side trap or the shooting ability if he does. This games cries out for Mladen Petric but if he plays what do you do with Berba and Bryan? Jol has admitted he canât (or anyway hasnât yet) solved this conundrum. Myself, Iâd use the pace of Dejagah and Urby to beat their trap. In the middle, the industry of Sidwell and Kara (you canât play Sidwell and Frimpong in my view) with the guile of Bryan to get the ball behind the back four. So that leaves the choice of the front player - and Berba will get the shout. So the team, I think, will be - â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦Scwarzerâ¦â¦â¦â¦ ..Rietherâ¦Senderosâ¦Hangelandâ¦Riise.. â¦â¦.Sidwellâ¦Bryanâ¦.Kara⦠â¦Dejagahâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦..Urby.. â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦Berbatovâ¦
Looks like an attacking line up, I guess Sidwell would be the one trying to pick up Bale? I think trying to get wingers in behind our fullbacks is the right idea, especially if Walker plays but I'm not sure you've got enough pace at the back and in midfield keep Lennon and Bale quiet.
Apparently. But, although he doesn't give anything away, in his internal video interview the suggestion from Jol is that it's unlikely the new boys will feature. Which probably includes Urby and that would be disappointing.
I'm itching for this game, feels like we've not played in months! I don't think we'll get much out of it, but I'm hoping for a good performance to show the other Moussa Dembele and Clint what they're missing.
The team need to put in a performance like the away games at Chelsea and Arsenal. Our top players like Berbatov and Ruiz need to be on top form. The only problem I see is neither Berbatov or Ruiz have the speed to get in behind Tottenham if they hold a high defensive line, they have quick defenders who can get back and both Berb and Bryan need time on the ball. We need to get stuck into Gallas, Dawson and Parker when they have the ball. Think Jol will play Berbatov but Petric or Rodallega to chase and harass them in the game might give us more chances. I think the line up will be â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦Schwarzerâ¦â¦â¦â¦ ..Rietherâ¦Senderosâ¦Hangelandâ¦Riise.. .....â¦.Karagounisâ¦â¦â¦.Sidwellâ¦. â¦Dejagahâ¦â¦â¦Ruizâ¦â¦â¦.Duff.. â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦Berbatovâ¦....
Team: Schwarzer; Riise; Senderos; Hangeland; Riether; Sidwell; Karagounis; Duff; Berbatov; Ruiz; Dejagah. Subs: Etheridge; Richardson; Hughes; Emanuelson; Enoh; Petric; Rodallega Hope we get some luck today (and no Swiss clangers) - A point would be nice. C O Y W !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unbelievable. So chuffed with our result, it sounded like we defended well, and we scored on the break - something we weren't sure we can do! Great 3 points, we can start looking up the table now, hopefully!
Yep, otherwise you wouldn't get a chance to hear a pundit say "Berbatov is too good for Fulham" yet again...
Just on my way home from match. Iwill admit i was not expecting much from the game as it has been a long time since we've come away from spurs with result. Wasn'the most entertaining game and the atmoshere was poor. Usually whute hart lane has a good atmosphere so not sure why today. Professional performance from all the team and i think in the end we deserved the result.
I thought it was a good game. I was sitting in the lower stand and you can't always hear what the Fulham fans are singing in the upper. So I think sometimes we were singing different songs. Spurs fans were a bit subdued, helped by Fulhams performance. Good all round performance. Thought Riether and Dejagah were MMOTM, some great passing for the goal. Sidwell and Kara worked well against their midfield. Brede was great at the back, and after a few mistakes in the 1st half Old Philipe did really well after we scored the goal to shackle Adebyehor. For the most part Riise along with Duff did well against Bale. Schwarzer pulled off two great saves after DeFoe had come on, and did well with the crosses. Ruiz fleeted in and out of the game, but did well in closing down through midfield. Berbatov was there to score the goal. (So who will be the first on TV to say he should be playing for a better team than us). Poor old Spurs fans were moaning after on the journey home, how could they be beaten by a team like Fulham.
