RANGERS have scored another major tax victory â after getting millions knocked off their rates bills.
Furious Light Blues chiefs had claimed assessors had overvalued Ibrox by nearly 100 per cent.
Now the club â which recently won a £36.6million battle with HMRC over the use of Employee Benefit Trusts â have had the stadiumâs rateable value cut from £1,916,000 to £1,000,000.
It could mean a saving of over £400,000 a year. And using current figures, it would see Rangers save between £2million and £2.5million by 2017.
But Celtic will have thousands ADDED to the bill for their Lennoxtown training ground after they appealed and it was reevaluated UP. <RoonYeez>
A Rangers spokesman said: âFollowing an appeal, the rateable value was reduced which will enable the club to make significant savings in the foreseeable future.â
Celtic refused to comment.![]()
