The best method of attack is sound defence and counter, this is after all an away game. We simply can't lose this one, and as Nordic says (welcome!) they will try to storm all over us early doors and if they don't succeed frustration will set in and the crowd will get on their backs. We need to be patient in this game. It will be tricky but we can win here.

Valid point, so do you suggest we return to one up front which has proven ineffectual for us all season ? Sorry being Devils advocate here as I don't disagree but isn't reverting back to the same setup we had before a backwards step ? If you play 4-2-3-1 and bring Adel back who are you going to drop ? I assume we are talking resting Bobby ? and playing -

    ------Park --M'Bia
    Townsend - Adel - Hoilett
    ---------Remy -------

Hmmm, may be better to start a little cautious and see what happens.

Agree. Attack and defend of course! I hope he plays Adel up front in a 4 - 5 -1, like at Chelsea and another couple of games it was I think, but now with Remy, Hoillett and Townsend playing off him, plus M'bia and Jenas as the main holding players in the 5. Bos, Samba, Hill and Traore at the back. Cesar in goal if he is fit again.

Hi and thanks for the welcome! If we play Adel we obviously have more of a chance to create something out of nothing. Adel is a master of the unexpected, but can we afford that luxury in such an important game? Park has been good in the last two games. He breaks up play, wins possession and runs for 90 minutes, Adel doesn't do any of those things. But, as said, Adel makes something out of nothing. Tough call, but, for me Adel would be on the bench.

For me Park wouldn't be in the start 11, and probably not on the Bench either. I hope Jenas plays instead of him, and Adel comes in for BZ, who I doubt is fit anyway, but in a slightly deeper role than BZ, the False 9 he played in around the turn of the year. I think he will be able to lay off and provide good ammunition for Remy, Hoillet and Townsend from there - Adel has the technical ability and these 3 the speed to give Villa a lot of problems. Bosingwa and Traore are good going forward down the sides too. With Jenas and M'bia covering the back 4 and getting forward when they can, we should be solid enough at the back as well.

Zamora passed fit apparently, but how fit must be a big ?

    From West London Sport

    """""
Zamora gives QPR a scare but is passed fit

    15/03/2013
    By David McIntyre
Bobby Zamora has recovered from illness in time to be available for QPR’s crucial showdown with fellow strugglers Aston Villa.

The striker missed training earlier this week and is also struggling with a hip condition and an ankle problem.

But he has been passed fit for the game at Villa Park, where a win would massively boost bottom-of-the-table Rangers’ chances of avoiding the drop.

Adel Taarabt is back in the squad, while Armand Traore faces a fitness test.

Taarabt did not feature against Sunderland last weekend and Traore, who has been nursing a calf strain, also missed out.

Last week was effective so play a fluid 451 442 433 or 424 depending on state of the game, we seemed to do all of these last week!!!!

All in all a draw wouldn't be the worst thing to happen, still think we will need 4 wins & 2 draws from last 9 games to have a chance, so important we don't loose this one as there are a few tougher games to come end of April & May where we may have the odd defeat.

Can't see it being the same team as its completely different from last week. I don't expect a Saints style game but i also think he wont go 'gung ho'. We need to watch Benteke/Weiman but also need to get the ball in their box as their defence is s###e.
We need to take the game to them and put them under pressure. Last weeks game at Reading could have gone either way and they are not a ManU, however we are not Barca? Tight nervous game with both clubs not wanting to lose.

I don't really like Lambert as I feel he is slimy and his tactics has managed to get a player sent off in two games in the past with Norwich, so I would not be surprised if he were to target Mbia for example, this is my worst fear.

I think we need to get at them and play high up the pitch but careful not to leave ourselves too open as we know they can score with Benteke therefore I would start 4,2,3,1 with options on the bench to go 3,1,2,4 :)

To be honest and I know I am being a little naive, at this stage with 9 games to go, I think that with the momentum gained since the Chelsea game on Jan 3, obviously with the exception of those 2 defeats, we should be going out to wipe the floor with them tomorrow. The results since the new year broadly shown that we are now a reasonably solid defensive unit, with a settled central defensive pairing and fullbacks who are improving game on game. We have to become an attacking threat to teams so that even those playing at home are thinking as much about how to contain us as how to score against us.

People on other threads are saying that a draw tomorrow is acceptable, I disagree. We are still "adrift" be it that it is only 4 points now and not 7 or 8, so we HAVE to win tomorrow and convincingly so that come Sunday morning we are in among the bottom pack, proper, snarling our teeth at those around us and putting the fear of God into everyone who is still looking over their shoulder.

Only once we have beaten Villa are we then in the race to stay up. Forget who else has a harder run in than us, results dont go to form at the end of the season so if we are going to lose, then it should be to Fulham away and not Villa away or Wigan at home.

    Attack, Attack, Attack.

I'd love to see a return of the Gigi style of football, doesn't matter how many you concede just score more than them !

What a sound bloke he was as well !

We have to attack as their defence isnt very good. The same type of game like the Sunderland one will be great, their defence is very bad. No point in not testing them and then hoping we keep a clean sheet.

Maybe I'm missing something here but given the late stage of the season, and given that we badly need points (especially from our relegation neighbours), is 'Attack' not a no-brainer?

Also, start same team as last week with Adel on the bench (and that's coming from an Adel fan!).

    You're right CorkeR.

The win is too important to us. We should go all out for the win.

As regards the team, it is not about individuals at this stage. It is about getting over that line on 19th May. Like you, I couldn't give a rats who plays or who doesn't play. I am sure Harry will use all the tools available to him between now and the end of the season.

I think start with same 11 again no need to play with a winning team if it's not going right the put Adel on apart from that if we keep winning then I am happy to see him on the bench.
