Do you think Steve Bruce will name an unchanged side. I thought Koren and Simpson looked lively when they came on against Burnley so personally i would start with them -------------Stockdale--------------- ------Chester---Hobbs---Mcshane---- Elmo----------Meyler--------------Brady ----Quinn------Koren--------Boyd----- --------------Simpson---------------
He'll squeeze junior in there somewhere and he'll start Gedo up front. Evans is back in training, so may make the bench.
koren and simpson only looked lively because they started on the bench, they're **** when they start games for me -------------Stockdale--------------- ------Chester---Hobbs---Bruce---- Elmo------Meyler- Fathi-------------Brady ----Quinn------------------Boyd----- ----------------Gedo---------------
I think he will stick with Gedo if he is over his frost bite, and revert back to Koren in place of Bruce. Interesting to note that in 3 of the last 5 games Forest won, their opponents Wolves/Ipswich/Charlton had players sent off, and in Ipswich case 2 players.
Fathi played full game last night so expect him to be on the bench, along with Koren. Doubt if he'll change a winning team. -------------Stockdale--------------- ------Chester---Hobbs---Mcshane---- ----------------Bruce---------------- Elmo----Meyler--------Quinn------Brady ----------------Boyd------------------ ---------------Gedo------------------- Might be a bit more attacking on the bench. Jako, Rosie, Fathi, Cairney, Koren, Simpson, Prossi.
Bruce in midfield in a home game? It would be a stupid thing to do, which is why I suspect we won't do it.
Nearly the same as Walkington's: -------------Stockdale--------------- ------Chester---Hobbs---McShane---- ----------------Fathi---------------- Elmo----Meyler--------Quinn------Brady ----------------Boyd------------------ ---------------Gedo------------------- Subs: Jakupovic, Rosey, Bruce, Evans (if fit)/Cairney, Koren, Simpson, Prossie Give Fathi a chance!
This would be my team as well, if Fathi is as good as the Egyptians think he will make us more solid and either he or Meyler can bomb on whilst the other stays deep. And not sure why people are suggesting Simpson even if Gedo is fit when he has scored 5 in 5 at home...
Would prefer to see your line up against Forest and mine against Huddersfield, but I think SB may start with a 'clean sheet' mentality initially against Forest.
^^this...sounds like Bruce has told Quinny to get forward and shoot more therefore I'd rather we keep a tight 5 in the middle of the park with Meyler and Fahti sitting in front of the back 3 (instead of junior) and let Elmo and Brady bomb on. Reid will be a reyt pain in the arse I bet.
I'm pretty sure he's done it before, I can't recall which game but I reckon it was also after an away game that we'd won with him in that role. Did ok actually but I agree at home it's too defensive!
I wouldn't be surprised if we named an unchanged team against Forest. It would be unjustifiable to move Bruce Jnr back into the defence after their performance in the week, and I can see Bruce playing Bruce Jnr in midfield in an attempt to control Lansbury and Majewski.
No brainer. Same team that started against Burnley. We need to put the Forest fire out first. We have 6 attacking players in Elmo Brady Meyler Quinny Gedo Gyppo. How anyone thinks we will be too defensive is beyond me.
Koren and Bruce aren't straight swaps. If Koren replaces Bruce, then Meyler drops into the defensive CM role and Koren adopts the more attacking one. Bruce is a pretty solid defender and a decent defensive midfielder but at home Meyler can do the defensive bit when required but offers an extra dimension when we have the ball that Bruce doesn't. I can appreciate the "don't change a winning team" thinking but you can also say that home and away scenarios are completely different. Arguably, we should play the team that gave us our best home result of the season a couple of weeks ago. Having said all that, hopefully either set up should be enough to get the result we want!
actually Forest bringing a full contingent should pump up our support AKA Leeds and make for a cracking atmosphere thus spurring the team on to a magnificent win..
