Who else would stand up to the might of Barca, Bayern and even a below-par Real.

Only Chelsea have beaten in-form galactico teams out of EPL clubs in Champions League.

Don't blow it, Barca and Bayern. Take advantage while we are having a rest under fasto this season. <ok>

Who's the only club to win at the Nou? Twice?
Who hammered Real 5 0 over 2 legs in the CL? With your current manager<laugh>

Who got you knocked out of the CL? That's right the hallowed RDM<ok>

    In-form
    = Strainingtojustifymuch:)

Oh and what PL club won it 5 times, has an authentic EC in their cabinet?

    Still giving Rafa abuse eh?

Who the fuck cares about Liverpool? Where have you been the last three years - playing in the Europa League or without any European football whatsoever. And it was FSW who got you knocked out of the CL in your last appearance. Technically speaking we were still in it when he came to us.

No one gives a shit anymore what you accomplished nearly 40 odd years ago apart from your own sorry selves. Big clubs don't need to talk about their history as they're constantly making it. People don't even laugh at you now because you've become so pitifully bad, not even the best team in Merseyside.

<laugh> calm down calm down precious, god forbid I reply to the OP.<ok>

I know you don't agree but sheesh that's a mouthful, do your parents know you talk like that:)

Correct me if I am wrong mate, but isn't last year history? as much as 2005 is history, look at the calendar it's 2013<laugh> And yeah, Chelsea have never ever won at the Nou

History also says Chelsea are the worst defenders of the title.

And again Rafa did not see you out of that comp either tbf

Yes, fair point history is history even if it is only last season.

But you surely agree that the recent Chelsea and indeed the current Chelsea are a class above Liverpool.

I used to like our scraps with you last decade when you were a whole lot better than you are now - we had some great battles.

I'm not really seeing a real resurgence at Anfield either which is a bit of a loss to the game imo.

We're a WIP at the moment alright. You are 7 points better than us, is that a whole lot? I am no so sure and we've had our share of wins v Chelsea too have we not. You were w hole lot better last season I would agree, this year, this is certainly not the case, I would say slightly more than marginally, both have reasons for poor performances. Next year will probably be a better bench mark for us but for ye with a new manager it may not be possibly to know where you are at.

Player wise, you've got a very good list of players indeed, we'll take Hazard n Ramirez off ye thx. Keep Nando:)

if you paint a massive mural of Nando outside SB he will play better, it was always the mural that made him great<laugh>

Chelsea are the team that Barca fear and rightly so. They don't like playing the the compact space of the Bridge. They don't like our game plans when we play them. Messi has never scored against us in numerous meetings and in the most recent time that they knocked us out, it was because of a ref who couldn't do his job at all in one of the most ridiculous games in the Champions League history.

Liverpool fans need to stop going on about their history. You're right. Last season etc. is history so everyone goes on about it BUT we are the current European Champions so I think we have a right to still talk about it!

I really enjoyed the Liverpool v Chelsea matches in the Champions League. They helped develop the rivalry that we have today. That 4-4 at Stamford Bridge was one of the most emotional games and most exciting games I've ever been to. Liverpool v Chelsea has an added spice. The atmosphere's at Anfield and at the Bridge are very special on these nights.

But you say taht you are only 7 points behind us thus are you really that far behind us overall? I would say that you are... This has been a very bad season for us. Taking part in 7 competitions and possibly not winning one trophy... But next season we will improve and I think be a lot further ahead of you

It's 7 with a game in hand also. So it could be 10 points but even that's not a fair picture given the self implosion we've had.

No Carragher next year and an ever ageing Gerrard surely means Brendan is going to have to pull some signings out his arse to get Liverpool competative again. Liverpool will be battling for 5-7 this year and can't see that changing in the near future.

real weren't a vintage team 08/9. Barca were the daddies that season.

And when you beat Barca 06/7, Rikjaard's team were in decline. They were at their best 2004-6.

Hope this has helped you with your history

  11. This is a joke, right?

Barca were unstoppable, last night. Even CFC, playing its anti-football, would not have nullified the kind of form that Messi was in. You would have been hammered, and right so.

So it's just a coincidence then that EVERY time Messi has played Chelsea, he's been completely nullified, he's just so happened to have "off days" ALL THE TIME when playing Chelsea? <laugh>

Give Messi time and space like Milan did then he's the best in the world bar none, mark him and nullify him and he's no better than anyone else.

What you say is irrelevant, the Catalan media, Xavi, Messi to name a few have all identified Chelsea as the team they fear/hate playing most.

like 04/5, 06/7, 08/9 and 11/12. last season we were sixth, they were on a 14-game goal win streak. What happened?

  14. All joking aside, any team that can stop Barca playing, and go on to beat them, has achieved the pinnacle, as far as I am concerned.

Not at all mate. Messi came out and said it himself. We have nullified him in all our contests. After the Barca home game this season I spoke to some Barca fans in my best possible Spanish and they said that they do fear us...

Once in a generation team. Nobody can beat them any other way. They have the most technically gifted midfield we've ever seen and have played with each other since the age of 10/11 so the chemistry/know how and understanding is unrivalled.

Agree. Chelsea have been there. Three times.

    Real have.
    Inter have
    United haven't

Thats what you, and every other expert said when we did them both times last year. Not a snowballs in hell, Messi will rip us apart, well he didn't and never has. It's not anti-football that beats Barca, it's clever football, ask Jose he's just done it twice in a week.
