Nice thread.

Hoping both Us and Spurs can have perfect finishes to the season. (which would be our best chance of European football.)

As much as I enjoy a bit of banter of the Mouser Thread, I have a hell of alot of respect for Spurs and our victory over you on sunday has never felt so good or so important.

I guess for teams that do not have the big money of United, City or Chelsea. You are the benchmark.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the yardstick nowadays. There is no way the likes of us can compete with City's oil state sponsored billions, or even The Russian Gangster's personal largesse. I'm sure they will neatly dance their way around UEFA's FFP rules, too.

All Spurs and Pool can do though is everything right and maximise their potential:

1. Maximise commercial revenue
(I know Pool are developing this and am sure Spurs are looking to aswell.)
2. Develop stadium
(Both teams have projects underway.)
3. Develop from youth
(Spurs and Pool have the best U21s sides in the country.)

There is little else that can be done, every body loves an underdog!

4. Don't sell players to them.
If the likes of Bale or Suarez end up moving on in the summer, then it can't be helped, but send them to clubs outside of the Premier League. Don't be Arsenal.

Even on that front we're getting sunk, we opened our new £80mill state-of-the-art training facility and City go and start work on a £100mill one.

But nothing beats game time, and young players will get opportunities with our teams and will not with Utd, Chelsea or City.

Have to be positive, Id rather an self suffucient financial model rather than living out of Daddies pocket.

if you are going to sell to them, make sure it is damaged goods. (Torres.)

You may have one advantage, if what I heard the other day is true. Apparently, red is considered a lucky colour in the Orient. Which, is supposedly why teams like Utd and L'pool are popular out there.

How long will it be until Chelsea do a Cardiff? They are already trying to get Red players and managers, just a matter of time until the Red shirt is added? lol

The difference is City's youth team has stopped producing first team players - our has produced two members of our current first team, with three or four players looking to get involved next season.

True although United aren't bad at that either but I take your point. The only trouble is keeping hold of them if they do make it but I think we're both quite well placed to give our best players good contracts and not lose them cheap like Arsenal, although even they've surely learnt their lesson with that too.
