Whilst the sol has been very quiet this season I disagree you can't blame the fans here, we are the worst team to watch in the league and we play boring football, if the lads aren't motivated then that's down to the management and the players themselves.
I'm confident we'll stay up with MoN in charge, despite our recent form I get what you mean re gardner, teams are really starting to take advantage of our makeshift fullbacks. Problem is who goes in at rb? Bardo? He's been awful this season
watching walford at the game yesterday, no animation ,no emotion, just sat there drinking from his little juice bottle ,not at any point did he get up and demonstrate any passion . i cannot imagine bally doing the same, i will say it again and again ,hes half the problem, how he has arrived with us i know is oneis choice, look at his profile as a no2 , brings nothing imo. with all those defenders sitting behind him yesterday he must have been in 7th heaven, thinking about it ,i would not be suprised if they play the ****ing lot of them next week.
To sack MON now is absolutely absurd....and replace him with whom, exactly? I thought he was pretty ****ing honest about our performance in his sky interview. No blame shifting (on refs or otherwise), knows we have always been in a relegation scrap BUT he needs to switch players to more natural positions, and get them playing positively again. For me, he has the summer to rebuild - playing and coaching staff - and if there is no upturn in fortunes/playing style and performances by end November, time to go. An equally big concern, is how many coffers we have to support the spending required in the summer? Squeaky bum-time to say the least. Sundays game v Norwich will really sort the wheat from the chaff, and as plenty others are pointing out - if they do not play well, or commit to win the game, the fans will be baying for blood. You can't blame them, given the dross that has been served up.
Itâs ridiculous if not damned insulting to blame the fans as the salient reason for being in this **** position. Do not forget that times are very hard in an area that has been heavily affected by the recession but they still turn out in our thousands. You continuously look for a scapegoat i.e. bad refereeing decision & poor vocal home support etc The reason that the fans have not being vocal is the incessant dispassionate dross being served by vastly overpaid players and management alike. Apart from the West Ham game itâs been an atrocious season.
thats a very good assessment, i agree ,in as much as i did not get enthused about his appointment and have been critical of his management ,to sack now would be lunacy. do you think the game and personel have left him in no mans land, i cannot fathom out how a man such as him seems to be getting it so wrong in every thing thats going on , with tactics ,lack of players and such like. i posted a week ago if he keeps us up it will be a miricale with all his failings this season so far. still at least it not cold and raining
A few separate issues to address here..The first one being that it costs nothing extra to get behind the team once you are there, so why not make the effort, believe it or not it actually makes the match day experience more enjoyable and actually helps the team. Secondly, I certainly don't always look for a scapegoat, but if I believe that they are contributory factors, I will mention them rather than continually blaming the manager like some on here.
Great post, I agree I've backed MoN but now it's time for results, our weaknesses are there for all to see, so if we get through to Jan next year and we have yet to make progress then he has to go
You are right it doesn't cost anything to get behind the team and if the team gives the fans something to shout about they normally do. Unfortunately this season there hasn’t been much to shout about. I wish success was dependable on how loud supporters sung then we would just pay them to be vocal than waste vast sums on so called Premiership stars. The match day is more enjoyable for most when the team plays well or shows some commitment, guile or even passion. Unfortunately for most of this season this hasn’t been delivered. Most of the sensible supporters on here understand that it’s not just been the manager to blame but also the players. As for looking for scapegoats read your recent posts especially your last one. You claimed that the home fans are the main reasons for a **** position certainly not just a contributory one. I reiterate my statement to blame the fans is ridiculous if not damned insulting.
The fans pay a hell of a lot of money. If the fans want to get stand and sing etc thats as much their choice as it is to sit down and watch the game in a more serence manner. The price of a ticket has monetary value and aren't handed out on the prerequisite that when in the ground they will 'vocally' support the team. Football crowds are always changing. What might have in vogue in previous decades isn't always still going to be case now. Change with the times but if you don't, you are certainly in no position to castigate those who have.
It's a two way thing though surely! The bloody Highbury Muriel created more atmosphere than our crowd has for much of this season, which surely must filter down to the players..

You can't score? It's our job to help break those sort of records Qpr hadn't scored at home this year, but being the kind club we are we not only let them break their duck, we let them score 3 goals!
This is the attitude which I believe is an insult to the past generations of our supporters who have built us a reputation of passionate and commitment, and one which I will fight against until my dying breath..For me attending games is all about this, and in my opinion if you want to just sit serenely watching a game of football, you may as well watch Barcelona on the box..

You continue to look for a scapegoat mainly the thousands of SAFC fans that supported it through thick and thin As for insulting past generations of supporters don’t even try to claim they were as vociferous, passionate and committed as the modern ones. Having supported SAFC since the 60’s I can recall countless games were the atmosphere stank mainly because the perennial dross served up on the pitch by players and manager alike. However, the supporters of SAFC in the main have continued to turn up in their thousands. If you want to behave like a banshee at a football a match that’s all well at good as long as you stop within the parameters of the law. However, if you also want to sit serenely that’s still acceptable in my book. It’s what I call a democracy

And Here's me thinking we are talking about supporting a football team not bloody politics..However it my opinion, which in a democracy I surely have the right to give, that portraying negativity breeds to more negativity and likewise creating a positive environment has a positive effect..
