Ill reserve my judgement until I see where he was for the goal where there were 2 unmarked men where he should have been, fair enough if he was covering the centre but if he was just ambling back....

Found it very interesting that on the final whistle he didn't stay on the pitch to celebrate with the rest of the team but instead went immediately down the tunnel.

He also swept in at 12.50pm, again refusing to sign any autographs. I think he'll always be an obnoxious twat who's up his own arse, but as long as he plays like that.....who cares? (Good to meet you today btw mate).

dont think any of us like him, but at least he is making some effort to earn his money

Perhaps he can't write Col

He was very good today. Would of been my MOTM had Townsend not scored that wonder goal. He can deliver a good set piece too. He also kept Johnson stifled thus cutting off an important supply line.

It would not hurt to chant his name occasionally. I gave an effort at it today but in a choir of one!

That is hilarious.....cringey, but fair play to you lad. Am sure he feels disliked, but not in the same leagues as Barton. I wonder, if he wasn't Chelsea, would we be more forgiving?!

I say sing a song......

I dont think his Chelsea connections are the main problem
I think its the fact that he was not trying hard enough for us on the pitch, refusing to be a sub and then not wanting to be part of the squad, while all the time earning a fortune

Harsh. He had a good game today, looked the part, did the business. Why look for negatives?

If you think that's harsh bruv you really need to get out more. I wasn't having a pop at the player ( I agree he had a great game yesterday), more I was commenting on the fact that he obviously doesn't feel part of the 'Team' and sadly, probably never will do

Great to meet you and your boy too Col, good to put a few faces to names :)

Off the pitch we don't know these people and it shouldn't matter. Bosingwa maybe complex but he is a very good footballer IMO ... the very reason i would always pick him currently. Park and SWP also. Townsend looked very sharp in the short highlights i saw ... thats means nothing however unless you see the game in the full 90 at LR.
I watch players and not the ball ... as i believe that is what makes a footballer. Anyone doubted our squad this morning? ... or having a little headache on who you would select against Villa at Villa Park?

Well, he wasn't booed when his name was read out at the pre match line up, which may make him feel better. His style is languid, which is difficult to pull off for a defender. He'll never be a crowd favourite but is obviously a class act when he can be bothered. Double Champions League winner, isn't it? Marvellous.

Didn't he take our corner kick that led to Sunderlands counter? No way could he have reached back to prevent it if was the case, but I can't recollect at the moment. Sessegnon should have been stopped by Park at the halfway line with a cynical foul imo.

This is a good picture though. Looks like he care to me <ok>

Yeh, I don't get this Bos negativity, beacause he don't run round shaking his fists and exhorting the crowd for support, it don't mean he's not trying. I think he has played well all season, excellent in many games, Sunderland wasn't the first game he has put in a close to MOM performance - I wrote on here he was a close contender for that 2 or 3 months ago, though can't remember who we played that day.
