Massive wins for Villa and QPR today, they play each other next week, also a big point for Saints although they could have done with a win with Liverpool and Chelsea to play next. The title race may be boring, but the relegation battle certainly isn't, it's the one benefit of having a poor quality league. I think Reading's place in the bottom 3 is sealed now. I see no way out for them even as early as now. United and Arsenal away are surely a write off and that leaves them 6/7 points adrift with only 7 games to play. It will be very interesting but I think Villa and Saints have to be favourites to beat the drop. Especially if it goes to the last day.
If Villa and Saints are to beat the drop, ergo QPR and Wigan must be going down. DL - another mention that the league is getting weaker? You are like a stuck record
i think if qpr can beat villa they will stay up, what a game that will be!! as you say district, boring at the top but down below is shaping up for a proper dog fight !!
How is it proven time and time again? And if it is getting weaker, than that makes your regression even more alarming! Going backwards at a rate of knots in a league that is getting worse
I want Villa to stay up as they give their young players a chance. I also think they will as Benteke has enough goals in him to keep them safe. They'll struggle if he gets injured though. I think Reading, QPR and Southampton will go although Sunderland are absolutely terrible at the minute.
Where are these stats? Also pretty childish editing my posts, but whatever you have to do to get yourself through the day
Giggsy Leg end?? for shagging his brothers wife?? right....... You should have picked the Rooney ****s on his pregnant wife again handle
This isn't a dig at any team or teams but the premier league has gone from consistently having 2 or 3 teams in the champions league semi finals to not 1 in the quarters (unless Arsenal pull of a small miracle). Isn't this proof the prem isn't as good as it was?
Again, you are contributing absolutely **** all the debate Perhaps a legend for being the most successful Premier League player of all time and in all likleyhood, the most successful premier league player that will we will see in our lifetimes. Sure, he has had some off field antics, but then Chelsea fans can hardly chirp up about that when one they have John terry in their ranks, the biggest serial cheat of them all
Hmmm perhaps, but if Man Utd can go toe to toe with Real - who had just beat Barcelona (who are considered the best team in the world) in consecutive games, then it shows that the whole league isn't falling behind. Its true Arsenal aren't the force they once were. But Chelsea have had the worst season in ages and Man City got the hardest group in the history of the champions league. I expect both Chelsea and Man City to perform considerably better next year, its just one of them years. Chelsea won it last year, Utd were runners up the year before that. Usually one team runs the flagship for England.
Not seen the stats G.Nev showed on MNF which proved English teams have declined in Europe since 09/10? Don't worry.
Nope. What are these stats then? I have shown you stats and said why I think the league isn't in decline, can you do the same? English teams declined in Europe since 09/10? 10/11 season Utd finalists... 11/12 season Chelsea won... hardly sounds like the league is doing that badly....
I do struggle to see any hope for Reading now, as there next 2 games are pretty much a write off. It's amazing how quickly things have turned against them as they were on a great run. I watched Wigan today in the Cup, and they looked impressive, and I think they might just claw there way out of it again, but I do think QPR could get out of jail, as they've finally got the ball rolling now with back to back wins. One thing is for sure, it's going to be a fascinating battle to beat the drop. As you say DL, the title race is as good as over, as United have just run riot over there rivals this season
