The problem is that we are all thinking about the huge task of rebuilding the squad and the 8-9 players that we need. It's making us think of bargain basement instead of Harrods, when in truth, we have no idea of the scale of SB's transfer kitty.

I think we are in for one or two surprises over the summer on the scale of the Gyan transfer, so let's wait and see what develops.

But didn't he leave Citeh cos of money? They wouldn't offer him what he wanted. Mega money is all down to interpretation. He was 19 when he joined Chelsea on a 4 year deal - wouldn't surprise me if he "earned" more than any of our squad.

Hope you're right. After all, didn't SB/NQ talk about breaking our transfer record not long after B£nt left? Mind you, saying such things have a nasty habit of coming back to bite you!

    you certain?

wasn't Bent around 55k per??? anyone know for sure?

Sturridge at 60k fine with me, but the likes of Gyan might not be too happy.

You his agent like marra? ;)

I'd be amazed if it was 60k, and i'd have to say we wouldn't pay that.

Love to know where this magical list is that tells everyone the wages of the Premier League mind....

Don't know how accurate these are, but I can't see them all getting his wage wrong!!

    Ha,

    Fairly decent riposte mate <ok>

Lets assume he is on 60k then.

But he wants to play, and he ain't getting 60k at Bolton.

We have a 40k wage cap (supposedly), if he is hungry to play, 40k a week and guaranteed first team football in front of passionate and incredibly handsome fans, some of whom have great hair (me), why can't we get him?

He's ideal for us, maybe this is a time when pushing the boat out works, him and Gyan would genuinely excite me (in a football way, not in a Jerseymackem likes boys way...)

Definitely love to see him in the red and white, but don't believe that he'd take such a pay cut. Especially if you ain't there every game.

I agree with that mate, if you offer him first team football, and a decent wage of 30-40k a week, which let's face it won't mean he'll have to live on the streets or anything, and if he doesn't want to come because of the wage cut, then he's not the type of player you want to be attracting to your club anyway really.

And Bolton definitely won't be able to equal whatever you offer him, as you look at their accounts and they're struggling to contain the debts and control their wage bill, apparently 86% of their revenue went on the players wages last season, and I think they'll be looking at cutting the wage bill down, Coyle had to offer Elmander a pay cut aswell because they can't afford to keep him at his current wage level.

So really, if Sturridge stays at Chelsea because he wants to keep his 60k, then you shouldn't even worry about that, as he's not the type of player anyone wants or needs in their team.

Sturridge's hair is pretty funky aswell, maybe you could start a sort of a hair worshipping brotherhood?

Sturridge is a peculiar one. He's a real handful and one of the brightest prospects in the country I would say.

He went to Chelsea for a lot of money for a youngster and was never really given a chance. He's a sensible lad, realising what the benefits of a season somewhere else would be. He's probably now thinking that he has to go back and take his chance at Chelsea, assuming that he's given one. His comments are clearly aimed towards Ancellotti making a decision about him. "Play me or let me go is what he's saying."

I think that there would be a few clubs that would be after him in England and beyond. He may fancy the permanent move to Bolton. If he from the North West originally? Maybe it suits his life style. I don't think that we'll be seeing Bruce given 12M to spend on a player this summer. I reckon Short has told him to wheel and deal.

That may be our trump card like.

Bolton are near his family, we can offer him barnet worship.

    He'll be a Mackem by Tuesday... <whistle>
