fergie to announce his retirement at the end of the season and jose to take over. could be a possibility after watching jose's behaviour tonight.

Imo there could be a huge manager merry go round with West Ham, Arsenal, Chelsea, City and us all getting new managers

Who would have the challis of hatred having that job with bacon face questioning every move and offering advice at every turn??? David Moyes is their best best as another gargoyle wouldn't be notice at Cold Trafford after all those fergie years.

Agreed. I can see this merry go round too...

Wenger to City
Mancini to Chelsea
Benitez to West Ham
and that leaves... Fat Sam to Arsenal

<laugh>

He was very generous to United and their players. Felt like he was preparing to manage them. I can see this happening.

I'm wondering if Fergie and Mourinho have had an agreement that Mourinho will take over from Fergie when he finally decides to step down. It would t surprise me. The two things people use against Mourinho's managerial CV are his ability to bring through and develop youth and his ability to stay at a club for an extended period of time while maintaining success. The development of youth is a bit unfair because he's never stayed a club enough to see the effect of youth team. With Fergie stating earlier that he'll most likely move into a directors role, it is possible Mourinho would move to United to help develop those two soft spots in his CV under the guidance of Ferguson.

Or he could be a stop gap u til Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is ready for the step up. :biggrin:

Fergie has to hang up his boots sometime, but as he's sure to win at least one important trophy this year, I cant see it happening soon!

I think it is very likely that he will go to Man Utd, if not this year then as soon as Fergie goes. I'd love him back at Chelsea, but I just can't see that happening again. Mourinho wants to come back to England we all know that as he's said it himself many times. If he does come to us then it has to be either us, Man City, Man Utd or Arsenal (only if a takeover happens).

I will be very suprised and disappointed if Mourinho is being lined up as our next manager this summer, though I must say the way he conducted himself in the press conference last night has set alarm bells ringing in my head.

Maybe that's why SAF was so distraught with the dodgy refereeing decisions that went against us. As that was his last chance to win the CL for a record 3rd time.

I just hope he stays on for at least 1 more season, but if he is going this summer, then we will be the most appealing destination for any manager in the PL.

We have the best team in England, which cant really be disputed looking at the league table, and our owners do not interfere in team affairs, allowing the manager full control of everything.

I can't imagine Mourinho wanting to go and work for the son of Stalin again, if we come knocking for him:biggrin:
