Strikers run from Bale today to score, at the rate Bale is progressing and adapting, he could well end up as a striker.

Both Messi & Ronaldo started off as a wingers, as did Henry, so there is a possibility Bale could go down the same route.

Bale basically was a striker vs Arsenal. Ade was running horizontaly (into the space where a winger would be) to make room for him.
If you see the stats, Bale was ahead of him positionaly.

PS do we now need NEW WINGER??

it's a question that leads to other questions.

if bale stays, and becomes the free roaming support striker, what happens to holtby? do he and dembele become alternating partners for sandro?

if bale stays central, we would need a quality winger, that's for sure. His pace would need replacing, as we have no left sided threat.

but with holtby becoming more deeper and central (if what I mentioned above was to happen), would that then rule out the need for another creative playmaker? Holtby has dropped deep a few times and looks useful.

I have no bloody idea what our formation is and who plays where at the moment! it's so hard to identify the areas we need to strengthen!

With Adebayor, Defoe and Bale now playing as a forward- if not a centre forward- and young players coming through, I'd be surprised if Levy gambled big money on another striker. Any cash will be needed to pay the wages top players will demand to renew contracts. If Spurs are not to be a selling club, they need to reward their star players appropriately.

Please try to stay on topic LDL, I want to know your views on the crucial vertical/horizontal debate <whistle>
