Only did the Top 7 and came out with the following: 1. Manchester United - 93 2. Manchester City - 81 3. Chelsea - 73 4. Tottenham Hotspur - 73 5. Liverpool - 67 6. Arsenal - 66 7. Everton - 62 We end up pipping Spurs to 3rd on GD. If anyone is wondering what I predicted for each result its the following: Fulham (A) - Win West Ham (H) - Win Southampton (A) - Draw Sunderland (H) - Win Tottenham Hotspur (H) - Draw Liverpool (A) - Loss Swansea (H) - Win Man Utd (A) - Draw Aston Villa (A) - Win Everton (H) - Win Don't think it's asking too much for 6/10 wins from those. There is room for possibly another defeat depending on how Arsenal do. I think Liverpool will pretty much win all of their games now, think I put them to win 8/10. Beat Spurs and 3rd is pretty much ours. Link is here by the way: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/predictor/default.stm
I did it for the whole league... 1. United - 96 2. City - 83 3. Chelsea - 75 4. Spurs - 74 5. Liverpool - 61 (GD 29) 6. Arsenal - 61 (GD 22) 7. Everton - 61 (GD 10) 8. West Brom - 57 9. Stoke - 51 10. Swansea - 50 11. Newcastle - 44 12. West Ham - 44 13. Fulham - 42 14. Norwich - 41 15. Sunderland - 37 16. Wigan - 34 17. Reading - 31 18. Southampton - 30 19. QPR - 30 20. Villa - 29 If mine work out, the final day will be MASSIVE - QPR winning at Anfield and going down regardless, Chelsea beating Everton and Arsenal losing. Wigan beating Villa 3-2 to relegate Villa and keep Reading up. EDIT: For your interest I have Chelsea to... Win 2-1 v West Ham Win 1-3 v Southampton Win 2-0 v Sunderland Draw 2-2 v Spurs Win 0-1 v Liverpool Win 2-1 v Swansea Draw 2-2 v United Win 0-2 v Villa Win 2-1 v Everton Seems quite unbelievable now I've written it out!
can't see us beating Fulham away or Everton home and think we'll lose to United away but agree with the rest.
I think it would fit with the constant soap opera of football if Rafa sent you on a winning run before he leaves. Fulham are good at home but they don't really have huge quality, and they don't park the bus. Could go either way I suppose but I'd expect you to win.
Mine panned out as - Man United - 95 Man City - 86 Chelsea - 75 Tottenham - 74 Arsenal - 63 Liverpool - 61 Everton - 61 I reckon I'll do a full predictions set later. Probably be slightly different.
Not sure how it happened but i came out with Arsenal 4th and Spurs 5th!! Arsenal do have so many winable games on paper but I know they'll drop more points than I allowed for - just knowing where.
from what was available: 1. United - 98 pts (game in hand) 2. City - 79 pts (game in hand) 3. Spurs - 71 pts 4. Chelsea - 69 pts (game in hand) 5. Everton - 64 pts 6. Arsenal - 61 pts 7. Liverpool - 59 pts although United probably won't finish with 101 points, I think the rest is pretty reasonable.
Went and redid it - Man United 94 City 86 Chelsea 75 Tottenham 74 Liverpool 67 Arsenal 63 Everton 61 Reading - QPR - Villa relegated.
Why does everyone think we will finish so strongly? Our history of fine run-ins? We have a fit but thin squad, too many fixtures and Rafa. Surely we will lose at least a couple of our last few games
Man Utd -93 Man City - 81 Spurs - 78 Chelsea- 70 Liverpool- 67 Arsenal - 66 Everton - 56 Southampton, Villa to get relegated. Wigan still have a game in had so either them or QPR will stay up. I might be harsh on Everton but they have a tough run in
Everton will have nothing to play for. There's the Lampard last game factor and Benitez's last game so there will be a feel good factor, possible announcement of new manager by then too. Fulham are an average side. Berbatov is pretty much all they have, rarely do they score more than once in a game. If we score twice we should win. Loss at Anfield is nailed on. United will have nothing to play for, I think we'll nick a point.
I wouldn't call winning 6/10 finishing strongly. As ****e as we have been this season we've only lost 5 from 28. Some of those wins predicted might be draws but there's absolutely no way we should be losing to any of those sides bar Liverpool and United away. Midtable teams with nothing to play for (at home) are much easier opposition than what Spurs have (tough teams at the top) and What Arsenal have (teams fighting relegation and away to teams with good home records)
Based solely on form, especially "big game" form ,I can see something like this. Fulham Draw W Ham Draw Southampton Win Sunderland Win Spurs Draw Liverpool Lose Swansea Draw United Lose Villa Win Everton Draw We would be extremely lucky to get 4th place. However, if anyone on here was any good at predictions, they'd be living on the Riviera, sailing a yacht and supporting Monaco !!
Arsenal have done much better than I anticipated. I predicted 10 points from the fixtures we had and so far we have 10 so are on course for our 73 point target.
I think we'll get 4th. It'll come down to our game against Spurs. I hope Villa somehow beat United tonight so they have to win on Sunday!
