He was fairly useless when he came back at a high price, but I remember rating him when we had him first time around and I knew the Hammers fans loved him. What went wrong?

 

I remember watching him when he was just a young lad playing in the reserves and I thought he was going to develop into a real star. What went wrong I just do not know.

 

I dont think he wanted to come back and it seemed to affect him.

 

Its often said that you should never go back. Can anyone think of examples where it worked?

But he must have done something right to be so popular at West Ham. I seem to remember him playing well for them in the match at Upton Park when we should have got something but lost 3-1.
