I hate amateur races with a passion but there is one I cannot get away from in such a race tomorrow.

BARTONS GIFT 8-1 2.50 Ffos Las has been behind two of the most progressive low grade handicap hurdlers in training, SEYMOUR ERIC and JUPITER REX, on his last two runs. The race that he was behind Seymour Eric in has produced winners or runners up from the first seven home. The formlines are rock solid. He has very gradually improved and I think they could be ready to land a little touch with him. Its an Amateur race and jockeyship will count which is another plus as he has the services of Nico de'Boinville.
He is a standout price at 8-1 with Paddy Power and I think thats a rick and it wont be around for long.

Think I might have a few quid on Mr Robinson E/W @ 9/1 3.40 Southwell.

He has shown signs of ability in bumpers and novice hurdles up until now but winning a h'cap was always going to be more realistic.

He has been dropped 13lb's since his first run in a h'cap three outings ago.In his last run in such an event he was tried over 3m+ and ran better than his finishing position suggests.Tomorrows 2m4f should be more his trip and with in form Josh Hammer claiming 7lb he effectively runs off 75.

The stable are absolutely flying and I would expect this to be backed.

Hopefully he can improve a little to take a hand in this moderate affair.

I quite like this horse Dex. May have more to offer and as you say the yard are in rude health!

Just a quick note. Tomorrow at 9am William Hill are laying Hurricane Fly at 3/1. obviously not for loads so be quick if you want it. WH are not NRNB but but i'm confident they would refund on this if it was to be non runner, as it is their special offer and they are enticing people to back a particular horse.

in fact they actually say it is nrnb.

Interesting Hawkeye. You can see why they are taking him on. Quevega is running against naff all and the Mares race isn't a draw. Simonsig has Overturn to beat and nothing else and they got burnt in that scenario last year. The only other option is MTOY. Which is who I'd have gone after.

I took the 11/2 pal so fingers crossed.

I'm not a fly fan to be honest, and will not be taking up the offer. i was just putting it up for other people as i know a lot of you like him. I'm on Grandouet from along time ago. Not ideal preparation at all, but i'm on already regardless. Will also back either zark or ruby with the paddy power offer. maybe even both, but good luck with your bet.

Its a fair offer if you are a Hurricane Fly fan.

He is the one to beat but I can't get last year out of my head at the minute. There are certainly no excuses this time round so may the best horse win. I just hope someone ensures a good pace. Can;t see Zarkandar being far off the speed either, not after last year, same with Hurricane, and Rock On Ruby won't want to be far off either. Who will make the running?

Chatterbox is 16/1 on Betfair for the Neptune- looks more likely that he may well run then?
