This time last season...20th Wigan played 24 won 3 drew 7 lost 14 for 21 against 49 Points 16 Differ -28 This season...............20th QPR....played 24 won 2 drew 10 lost 12 for 18 against 37 points 16 differ -19 Wigan stayed up by 7 points. To say it's too late is premature. It will be hard but it won't be unprecedented. Plus Wigans home record to that point was 1 win 5 draws 6 defeats so saying too many home draws doesn't make any difference. We finished last season winning our last 6 home games. Form changes and ours is on the up.
I can really see our next 3 or 4 games being a mixture of wins and draws, I think we may just do this.
Well done Israel !!!! Glad you got it wrong but in a good way Looking forward to you getting back on track for Saturday
So we are 2 pts off target and predicted to only get 1 pt from the next 2 games, but maybe we will surprise, then we hit our stretch of 4 wins on the trot - looking forward to that, our salvation is almost at hand!
Well done with your optimism - may it help you feel better - me? We're doomed, have been for a long old time. It's a familiar feeling.. but this time it's worse.. I was so confident in August - oh I'm so ANGRY
Seven games in to the above projection and we're bang on target again thanks to two extra points today to compensate for the Norwich and Swansea results.
We have to win the next four to get 42, we wont win the next 4 and theres no way to make up for any dropped points after that unless we beat Everton arsenal or Liverpool as well as win all the other games.
42 points won't be necessary, I think 37-38 will probably be enough, but the projection does show that despite how lousily we all feel we have been doing lately - today's result excepted - a couple of wins will have us right back in the mix and coming from the rear is a distinct advantage, they won't see the whites of our eyes until it's too late!
Well it was not rocket science lads was it I hope we shout the roof off next week then we are on our way.
Updated - so still right on track with match outcomes balancing out:- Predicted (Actual) Gain/Loss Spuds H 1 (1) 0 W Ham A 1 (1) 0 Man C H 0 (1) +1 Norwich H 3 (1) -2 Swans A 1 (0) -1 Man Ure H 0 (0) 0 S'ton A 1 (3) +2 S'land H 3 AV A 3 Foolham A 3 Wigan H 3 Everton A 0 Stoke H 3 Reading A 3 Ars H 1 Newc H 3 L'pool A 0 Total 29+13=42
42 would be nice, but right now any number, including goal diff that keeps us up would be great. But wasn't 42 supposed to be the answer to the ultimate question of the universe in the old radio presentation "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy"?
***UPDATED*** so we're still right on track, but certainly high expectations for 5 of our next 6 games (15 pts) - I see we have no points predicted for Everton away, but we may just surprise them, as we did last season, as did Wigan in the FA Cup game there yesterday. Harry says 37 pts could be enough to stay up - Israel's predictions here (that we have all embraced) give us a 42 pts total, so we have a slight buffer there for a slip-up in a game. Mackie could have helped our GD cause yesterday with a 4th goal that looked on.
Well I'm having a bit of fun with it and he is actually right on track, although we are now predicted to win 5/6 games which will be a tough run. I actually rather fancy us at Everton, which is down for a loss. Maybe if we all believe and think positive thoughts, IsraelRanger and his predictions will lead us to the promised land. please log in to view this image
