Tottenham consider selling Jermain Defoe to finance £8m move for Ben Foster

hardly had the best off seasons, but on his day is top class....

I like Defoe a lot! Think he'll link up well with Gyan. Would be happy with this signing

Didn't we learn our lesson from the last Spurs player who's career we tried to kick-start! ;)

Seriously though, can't see a laandener like Defoe wanting to come and play up in sunny Sunderland myself.

Fantastic for the time he was here. Agreed.

The start of a downhill spiral when he left, almost ending in relegation. Agreed.

Thanks, but no thanks. Oh and thanks for the 'muppet' comment you little ***got.

I'd definitely take Defoe. Don't really like the bloke but whenever he's given consistent first-team football he scores 15-20 a season. Would be a great signing, and 8mill wouldn't be a bad price.

However like a few others have mentioned, I can't see him wanting to come up here. Hope I'm wrong though!

you could say exactly the same about any player, you could sign a player tommorow and 18 month down the line their heads may turn etc... part and parcel of football so get over it, you are a muppet.

I reckon they would want more than £8 million as well. Very happy if he came even if he left after 18 months for an even bigger fee. Just as long as we were prepared for that eventuality and had a replacement lined up. Once bitten and all that.
