Ta for the link, ill read it later.

Thursday wasn't all about Celtic. It was about rangers IL and the whole SPL.

A guilty verdict was delivered but perhaps all Scottish clubs find the punishment unsuitable with 'the pot being empty'. I can understand fans and players of that decade feeling put out by the punishment handed, not the overall verdict though. It was guilty, as anticipated.

So you genuinely believe that the other SPL clubs can compete with Celtic who sell 40.000 season tickets and bring in £30 million or so through euro money and assorted transfer fees? Well done to Celtic for giving the other clubs a bit of financial support, but are you honestly saying that the other clubs can compete with you?

I would agree clubs like Inverness have Ross County have really done well this season. Conversely you could say that football is cyclical and that traditional third place challengers such as Dundee Utd, Hearts and Aberdeen have all underachieved this season.

To say we will struggle to compete with Motherwell and so forth when we eventually return to the SPL is laughable Tina and you know it. Sure if we came up with some of the players we have just now we might struggle a bit. Remember though this season we were unable to buy players until the last weeks of the transfer window, the club was in turmoil, we didn't even know what league we would be playing in and this only skims the surface. Regardless of who is in charge when we get back you will find that the other 10 SPL teams (dependent on league restructuring) will be unable to compete with either Glasgow team in terms of fan base and financial clout. I hardly think they will be up against Cribari and co then. We will have plenty of opportunities to add to the highly promising youngsters like MacLeod and MaKay when the embargo is eventually lifted later this year.

Again, I stand by what I said. You've been very unkind to the other SPL clubs in what you're saying.

I admire your optimism re your team getting to the top flight and competing at the highest level. Football in Scotland has been waining for years, I don't think it's finished yet. Celtic are in a position where they'll always be able to cut their cloth accordingly. Your team, whether you care to admit it or not, are a new club. No accounts, an unnamed consortium owns the club, they'll do we'll to aim as high as mid table in the top flight, should they eventually get there. They won't be able to buy buy buy, like the IL club did - no one can do that now due to the return in prize money in Scotland.

Again, I admire your optimism, but again my opinion, your club are miles away from top flight football, both on and off the field.

Oh but it was ! Celtic orchestrated this whole thing but failed AGAIN !

That's why you're all so angry about the verdict.

I agree it will be more of a case of join, join, join instead. Like Dean Shiels, Ian Black , Fran Sandaza and now Cammy Bell have. Have you seen the Bosman list this season?

I haven't, no, but it's not just about transfer fees. While bosman deletes that, other clubs with a more settled 'on and off the park' may be more appealing to those players.

Again, just my opinion. Nice to have a wee debate-ish without the name calling/beeling. Cheers big ears x

Just had a look at that link, isn't he big Sammy's agent? Seen quite a few 'Celtic minded' folk call his blogs into question. Wouldn't read too much into what he says.

McMurdo sums Lennon up perfectly:

Lennon's an embarrassment to everyone.

I honestly believe most educated Tims know this but refuse to break rank with The Groin Brigade.

Yesterday he made them a laughing stock on national TV with his sour grapes reaction.

Lennys not an embarrassment. He's a young successful manager of the top team in Scotland.

The GB don't have the full support of Celtic or the fans. I have close family who sit close to them and they're often referred to as 'arseholes up themselves' in my company. Sure they liven things up, but wanting special treatment from the other fans? Aye, that'll be right.

You refer to Lenny's upset. Sure he was showing his passion. I'd rather that than a snidey wee **** playing up to a rabid majority. A team who he played against, found cheating for years during his playing career and only handed a fine that'll never be paid - am guessing if you were in his shoes, you'd be peeved too.

BLACK 'N BLUE ... Gers boss McCoist and chief exec Green launch new shirt deal
I’m delighted.. and frustrated

RANGERS accepted being put in the Third Division.

It was not our choice, but once our fans made their views plain, we were keen to get on with our lives.

However, following Thursday’s decision by the commission, if we could turn back time would we still be where we are today?

I don’t think we would.

I think we would be in the SPL and these are the frustrations for us.

When I heard the news, like every Rangers fan I was delighted because all that pressure on the fans, management and players was a big thing. I think back to those dark days of last summer when Ally McCoist and I were going into meetings with lawyers at 7am.

It was dead easy — just sign bits of paper and we are all done.

The first draft of that five-way agreement was stripping us of League Cups and Scottish Cups — plus SPL titles.

I had numerous meetings with SPL members who formed a little committee.

If I had rolled over, it would have been fantastic for my consortium because we would still have been in the SPL on big revenues, still playing in Europe.

But it was not right. Rangers did wrong. We were punished, deserved it.

I said we would not play in the SPL while I’m chief executive and while they were title-stripping.

Now that obstacle has gone, but I have not changed my mind about that. I still think the SPL is a tarnished brand.

We don’t know what division we will be in next season and in my mind we won’t have a decision before May.

That will mean no one’s going to be able to sell season tickets.

It’s not just: ‘What’s the structure? 12-12-10-10, right — we’re up for it, lads’. It’s deeper than that.

If we look on the current timetable and what’s required, they are going to have to changes Articles of Association and raise share capital.

And they need to have a rule book because SFL rules are different to SPL rules in relation to things like how many players you have, how many work permits you are allowed.

Who is on the board? Who is going to be chairman of it? Have you seen his balance sheet? Have you done due diligence on him? Have you seen the TV contract? The answer — No.

If you think of all these huge issues, it is complete madness.

So the big question isn’t: ‘Is it 12-12-10-10, or 12-12-18 or any combination of those’?

For me, that’s the last thing we should be considering.

The game here CAN be saved — where there’s a will there’s a way.

Last April the question was if I could save Rangers.

For me, sorting Scottish football is easier than sorting out Rangers, considering the hurdles we had to overcome.

But there was a willingness to do it here. I don’t know if there is a willingness on the other side. And I don’t know who’s going to take ownership of it. Anyway, I’m the last person you should be asking about restructuring Scottish football.

There are 42 professional or semi-professional clubs in Scotland, and 41 of them have a better idea than Charles Green has because they have been through it.

I don’t want to be known as the man who destroyed Scottish football.

Rangers, with its history and tradition, has an obligation to Scotland, to make sure that Scotland continues to have a football business.

Do I think Rangers and Celtic are too big to be in Scotland? Of course I do.

There’s been more dialogue in the last three months from UEFA.

Even Campbell Ogilvie has said the SFA would not stop Rangers and Celtic leaving Scotland. We’ll see.
