But wasn't it a risky tackle anyway? Don't players know by now that a tackle like that in the box is bloody dangerous as the other player can easily dive and the ref misconstrue it as a penalty? It's bloody stupid to tackle like that in the box. Like Gomes' against Inter when he was sent off, totally brainless.

Worryingly, that's almost a carbon copy of my first attempt at the triple jump.

Defoe's this season runs him close.
Anything by Pires is worse still though. The one that got them a draw that helped them remain unbeaten that season springs to mind

I love the way he takes another couple of strides after the attempted tackle and then thinks, " Oh bollocks, the balls' getting away from me, Oh well, better chuck myself over then"

I keep seeing United linked to Lewandowski who is out of contract next year and unlikely to sign a new one. Thing for me is which one of RVP, Rooney, Peaboy and Welbeck is going??, I really can't see 5 strikers there, Hernandez has already had a little sounding of regret at little game time. With the WC next year, players want to be playing, I'd take any of them! but I think JH would be a blinding signing for someone, out of our league, not the player, but other bids from bigger clubs. Interesting situation though.

Lewandowski's also being heavily linked with Bayern, so it might not become an issue.
I think you're right about Hernandez being the one to leave if it happens, though. I'm sure there'll be quite a few clubs after him, in any case.

Didn't know that, the Pep factor could change the transfer destination of quite a few top players.

Every time i've seen him played he's been utter toilet but he did score a LOT of goals last year and is currently out of favour, so if Lewandowski goes to Bayern do you think we'd have a shot of picking up Gomes(z)?

Not sure anyone will be leaving. RvP will be 30 and Rooney 28 next season. There will be room in the squad to bring in another forward who will be the long term successor to RvP. If the price is right, why delay a move for Lewandowski? Like his hairline, Rooney will be moving back as he gets older and could even finish up in central midfield. Welbeck offers different options, often running the channels in wide areas. Hernandez has 15 goals this season, which is proof that he's getting games, even they are often from the bench. He won't leave if SAF has anything to do with it.

From what I've seen of Gomez he's essentially a German Darren Bent.
Maybe I'm doing him a disservice, but he just seems to be one of those players who does absolutely nothing, then puts the ball into the net.
Bayern's overall game seems to have come on quite drastically since they signed Mandzukic, who contributes more to the game.

Totally agree. Pundits bang on about him before games like he's some sort of god but he's been absolute cack-pants every time i've seen him. Quite often a statue, barely moving.
You don't think he would add to the squad then? I was wondering whether i was just missing something or if i was just unlucky in the 10 or so games i've seen him play
