The fans actually disagree with alot of Roman's decisions and believe he's ruining their club. The long-term (pre-Roman) fans would prefer (in many cases) for him to leave and let them build properly again. But quite frankly, their methods of showing displeasure to Roman is cowardly at best. What was their chant, something like "Roman Abramovich, what are you doing?" Yeah, real displeasure with that one...

Chelsea fans need to decide what they want. Stick or twist with Roman because he's not going to change. I think they'll stick...because they know they need him. Not even their 'Messiah' Mourinho will save them with FFP coming into play.

I've said earlier that I sympathise with genuine Chelsea fans for the state you find your club in. Seems to me you've sold your souls for a few years worth of success. The sad thing is that more and more clubs are likely to go the same way before things get better.

I can see the positives he's given you, but he's been going downhill in many ways the last 4 years with some absurd decisions. Your next manager won't be Pep, it probably won't be Jose; and any other manager given the job won't be fully backed because it's not one of the previous two! Where is the future of Chelsea going with Roman still at the top?

I actually liked Chelsea pre-Roman. I enjoyed watching the team with Zola, Desailly, Di Matteo, Le Saux, Poyet et al. I like competing (or as you call it, living in the shadow) of teams who have quality players, but I, like alot of football fans in the country, have lost alot of respect for your team since he's took over.

Funny how a lot of fans liked us pre Roman when we had good players and attractive football but weren't a serious threat to the status quo. Funny how that changed when we started winning things. Mmmm.

I don't think Roman has a lack of respect just a strong personality that believes the decisions he makes are the right ones. That's how he has succeeded in business by being ruthless and single minded. Does that translate running a football club, maybe not in some areas and there have been some bad decisions made at board level probably starting with sacking Jose.

However he has helped bring the most successful period of our history to us, improved our infrastructure, our global appeal, the clubs worth, written off the debt, improved training facilities and provided us with a great batch of kids that'll hopefully start coming through more regularly.

Do you really expect us to turn on him cos he makes a bad decision now and then. That's not to say we wont voice our displeasure but come on.

I try to avoid slanging matches so I'll ignore the KD dig.
Yes, hiring and firing goes on, but not to the extent that's happened at Chelsea since RA took over. I think we've got too trigger happy over the last few years, but at least the change of owners goes part way to explaining that.
My general point was that the influx of big money by owners who interfere too much with something they aren't expert in is ruining the game. Chelsea are a case in point, but the problem is one that increasingly affects us all.
Owners should, imo, just put a manager in place and back off and give him time to do his job.

Errr..No you don't need to burn effigies but the abuse hurled at Rafa from day one was misplaced. You didn't all suddenly only overhear his comments about your club so it wasn't instant outrage.

Your reaction was to the appointment of someone that had made those comments about your club. So why hurl abuse at him; he didn't appoint himself? But you didn't show a similar level of hatred and anger at the real villan, the person who appointed him. Sooo It's easy for us to assume that it is not out of respect (how can you respect a man who knowingly appointed such a hate figure) but out of fear that he'll up and leave that you don't show the same level of outrage at the real person responsible for the situation. Your frustration at all being Romans powerless bitches is the real reason for your vent at Rafa.

You could argue that respect is listening to the fans who are the entire essence of your club. Roman doesn't listen. Therefore, I would argue, has no respect. Our owners are nowhere near the best, but they earn alot of Kudos for listening to the fans every now and then.

Like I said, success through his wealth, but at what expense? Are you happy with how your club is perceived in the footballing world? Whilst this siege mentality will bring your club together for the final few weeks of the season, it's just glossing over the biggest problem with your club right now; Roman. He came, to took you to a higher level, he's improved your team and youth, now he needs to go and let the club move forward. He hasn't got the nouse, respect or (with FFP) money to take the club higher. His two top manager targets won't be coming in, and the next manager needs time which they won't get either. He lacks patience.

Ultimately we didn't want RDM sacked but if he was and then say Jose had been appointed in his place, we could have lived with it. Instead a guy who slagged the club and worse still, slagged the fans off during his tenure at one of our biggest rivals (certainly at the time) then shows the hypocrisy of accepting a job offer from our club, presumably out of desperation cos no one else of note wanted him post Inter.

I can actually understand why he was appointed, it's a decision of the head made by a business man. But as fans, we didn't want him.

However by having some awful results on the pitch has led to the position not getting better. If Rafa wanted to get us on side, results needed to improve, instead they got worse. So he is the easy target for the fans' frustrations, right or wrong.
