I didn't see Adebayor join the huddle, nor does he do funny celebrations with Bale anymore...he's had plenty of opportunity of late!
He was the first to Bale after his first goal. After the 2nd he was flat in his face on the goal line with 2 Spammers on top of him. After the third I am pretty he sure he got over to the huddle which ended up by the dugout and at the end of the match he was one of the first to hug Bale. But other than that I don't think he got too involved...... ;-) Hopefully the goals will come and the funny dances with Bale will be back on the agenda.... Although they got plenty of stick for those as I recall.
I'll take your word on the first, can't remember, Caulker was on the floor with Collins boot print on him but still got to Sig, and I really must have missed his involvement for the 3rd and the final whistle. He certainly wasn't in the forefront as such like last season...kind of all I meant really.
I think Ade was having his own private celebration at the news Stefffen Freund wasn't there last night
Adebayor's involvement in the second goal was absolutely comical when seen again. He runs into the melee at full steam, takes a wild swing at the ball, misses, then charges into one of West Ham players. I'm surprised he didn't get called up for a foul, looked like something from the NFL.
It was amusing - the biggest air shot I have seen at that level. But it inadvertently did the trick. Mind you it was the 2nd of 3 or 4 possible offences by players of either side that occurred within the space of about 3 seconds. Most amusing as we scored, but had we not.......
I'm still mystified by what Collins thought he was doing. please log in to view this image Bundles Caulker over, turns around, looks at the ball... and then kicks Caulker.
Looking again I think the only reason he air-shots is because he was expecting it to bounce higher off Caulker's back, when it sort of just rolls off. I think that's the funniest goal i've ever seen us score.
Ade? It was a clever dummy for Sig, who was craftily appealing for handball to add to the total confusion
The handball was the first offence, ref couldn't have been worse placed for that, Collins boots Caulker, so thats 2 pens missed, so thank god it did go in! Neville was laughing his head off in his analysis afterwards, said it was total carnage and a bit of GBH thrown in!
The more I watch that the better it is. It's like a really good comedy where you notice new bits each time you watch. I can forgive Collins for kicking caulker in that mess, could be a legit mistake, it's not as if he's the only one who can't get near the ball, in fact at least he's close to contact so kudos. LOL!
It really is spectacular, especially coming after, what was it, four free kicks that were headed powerfully towards the goal, and required great keeping to stop. It was only natural that this one, which Pogba, maybe, heads away very routinely, promptly rebounds off another defender's upraised arm (clear pen) before dribbling back at him. Collins has just finished tackling Caulker (We're only giving him three free headers this game, damn it!), tries to kick the ball and misses because Caulker's body is in the way (the irony!). Then Ade misses, it seems, because he doesn't want to kick Caulker and/or is trying to lift it over the keeper. Gylfi, who'd been busy standing stock still with his hand raised to call attention to the blatant handball, watches the ball slowly roll down Caulker's back to him, and kicks it in (just barely! the ball kisses the post) the moment when the brilliant keeper takes the third swing and miss at the ball in a second and a half (edit: no, it's four. After booting Caulker in an attempt to clear the ball right footed, he then swishes at it while falling with his left foot. Perfect example of it getting funnier with each viewing). The foul sequence went: handball (pen) on West Ham, foul (pen) on Collins for a rugby tackle on Caulker, foul on Collins for kicking Caulker, foul on Adebayor for clattering into Collins. Might have been a tad harsh to penalize Ade. Question: shouldn't Caulker get the assist? He fed Gylfi perfectly, when all's said and done.
Question: shouldn't Caulker get the assist? He fed Gylfi perfectly, when all's said and done. He should share it with Ade - that was one hell of a dummy!!!
I wish you hadn't posted this clip., I have now watched it an immeasurable amount of times, and have laughed so much that the tears are running down my neck and the Dobermanns are looking at me with perplexed looks on their faces. This thing just gets funnier., Please, please take it away.
Love the way Ade charges in,like a bull in a china shop, and takes Collins out, just after he's kicked Caulker.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer china shop. Hardly looks intentional--Ade might just have had the idea of kicking the ball in the net--but smart, nonetheless. Collins was unfoulable at that point, having just dished out two fouls himself, and would have cleared the ball otherwise.
