If the board don't act now they never will. It's the same old tepid, uninspiring performances we've seen every week since the end of November. We don't have a cats chance in hell of finishing 4th under this manager. Poor team selection and substitutions once again cost us, totally gutless display. When I see teams not even having get out of 1st/2nd gear to beat us that's when I worry. Arsenal and Spurs both went to City and took the game to them. Past the point of anger now, it's reaching total apathy. Until I see major changes at the club this summer and a change in attitude I won't give the club another penny.
Benitez was simply a poor choice. His ability to do the job was irrelevant, as he'd already alienated all of the fans. One of the main reasons that he was brought in, by all accounts, was that he could get Torres to play again. He looks even worse. It would add to Abramovich's reactionary reputation if he were removed, especially as Avram Grant's been hanging around, but I can't see how Benitez can rescue this one. The fans hate him, the players don't seem to have performed particularly well under him and the press love to give him a kicking. Who to bring in now if he goes, though?
What exactly is it you want to see from Roman? You've already had half the managers in the profession this past 10 years, another sacking, really?
What at least 5 million a month just chucked in? Not to mention shirt sales. He could afford it but wouldn't do it - prat! He wants attractive tippy tappy ****e and as long as there's a poisonous atmosphere at the bridge we won't be progressing.
Unfortunately PNP you have hit the nail right on the head! Only the Special One can put things right, now!
No simple one, as I said he can afford indirectly any measure of funding for your "poisonous" (your quote my Barbarian comrade) club.
Not my quote actually so maybe read it again and get back to me. Anyone can quote one word and twist it, you should be a journo!
Nothing will ever get me to understand how they thought Rafa would ever be accepted...the best they could have hoped for was he won lots of matches and even then he'd only have been tolerated ... at best! I really thought that we'd end up way way behind you lot after seeing the players you signed last summer...and us losing Modric and VDV...I never dreamed we'd be in touching distance of you come late feb/early march especially after seeing how well you played at the lane
If there's one club in English football that needs the fans on side it's Chelsea. We own the ground, they can't do f**k all with out our say so. That's excluding money, but whilst were on the subject of money without the fans you can instantly wave goodbye to £77.8m of the £300m or so the club make. No home support means every game will virtually be an away game and lead to team performance declining so you can then wave goodbye to a large chunk of sponsors (Commercial) and broadcasting revenue as well. Football clubs are businesses now admittedly but never for one second think they can run independently without fans, especially with FFP coming in.
under FFP .. he definitely need.. his cash is not allowed under FFP so time he start give the fan a say tbh
As PNP rightly said, Coco was brought in to get Torres playing well, and, to be fair to your board, it was worth a gamble. But it doesn't seem to be working, and you are playing worse than you have under any manager that I can remember. That would be difficult enough for any manager at CFC, but add to the fact that the CFC faithful have made it absolutely clear that they will never accept Coco, no matter what he does, it makes his position impossible. I can only imagine that Coco is prepared to simply take the money and run, when the inevitable happens.
Rafa is finished as a top flight manager after this. Apart from one good season at Pool, which took him four years to build, he has been ****e for a decade.
Benitez was never good at Pool, one fluke CL shouldn't change that. He ripped apart a good team that finished 2nd and 4th under Houllier and turned them into a pile of ****. He completely killed Torres by overplaying him so much and refusing to buy another striker whilst selling off Bellamy, Cisse etc. He's being found out as he was at Liverpool and Inter. But the fact is the problems run deeper than Benitez, we should be competing for the title with the money spent yet we aren't. This is what happens when anonymous people put together a squad. Decline down to total mismanagement stretching back 2/3 years.
