I've already switched to the Forest commentary, where David Bassett is co-commentating. Also, the pitch is in really poor condition.
I'm no sexist but the female commentator who is on player sometimes is extremely annoying. Not to mention saying players names incorrectly and incorrect statistics from previous games...
Player is OK. I usually switch over when they start talking crap, including but not limited to the clothing choice of Powell (the reason why I've just switched over). The woman is alright, definitely not as bad as the 'let's talk about the pies instead' bloke. BBC Nottingham will be having the Mansfield match. The local stations usually have commentary online for the smaller team in an area. Forest seem to be on top in early exchanges. I didn't notice them being very tall at the City Ground, but seems to be a threat for Charlton this time
Really? It's a rights thing. If you turned on a radio in Nottingham, you would get to listen to the match at the Valley, but they usually choose a less popular game for the internet stream (because whoever owns Player has spent a lot of money), whether that's Mansfield, Alfreton, or Carlton Still all Forest
I have just had a few occasions where the commentary has switched on the same channel. A commentator in the Bayern munich v Bremen match on cable here just clearly and precisely said "Children, diving is cheating !" Very refreshing to hear, as opposed to the many media types who continually cover for the obvious diving..... A side topic anyways... Back to CAFC !
Anyone else suffering lots of breaks in the Player commentary today? Half an hour gone and our first proper attack leads to a corner.
Text from my mate. Leaving out the expletives, the gist is that we are not very good and incredibly negative. He's not happy. Glad I stayed in the warm!
Right with you on that Oz! I was back at christmas and saw a Gareth Bale dive when he got booked. Alan Hansen was wittering on senselessly about 'contact' but the contact there was was'nt capable of toppling a three year old. Bale felt something touch him, dived headlong and rightly was booked. The BBC then went on to claim the referee was wrong. Football a non contact sport.
