Get him in now ready for when he's needed most definitely but I wouldn't play him ahead of bob koren
Long term replacement for Koren? Get him in now for a relatively small fee, make him sign a pre-contract agreement and get the next 3 years or so out of him whilst he is in his prime (plus I assume he would be on a small wage a Peterborough)
He's on 10k a week, which is why they want rid of him. I think we could probably offer him something around the same area quite easily.
