I think you can't dismiss the effect of previous games with him in charge. Do you run the ball at the defence knowing that they are going to be allowed to knock you around with impunity? Do you start to try "other" things and become a little less certain? I think it is a huge problem for the FA though. The longer it goes on, the less good it looks on Mike Dean and all referees.
Yeah, its all the 50-50's go against us with Dean and a few others. Phil Dowd is the worst for that. Remember the 4-4 against Newcastle that was the worst display of biased reffereeing I have ever seen and turned it from 4-0 to 4-4. Thats how big an impact it has on a game. I dont advocate violence at any time, but if I saw on the news that an Arsenal fan had broken his legs I would totally understand why.
Some bizarre betting patterns on the game http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/results///E/4005028/today//////Arsenal-v-Blackburn.html If I am reading it right Blackburn were 1/2 to win to nil during the game; they must have taken a crapton of money on a blackburn win for the odds to drop that low!
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...Dean-is-Arsenals-least-favourite-referee.html Looking at those list of games, nothing stands out for me, where we can claim that 'we were robbed', in fact most of the losses are down to us being not very good or one of our players having a stinker.
Why, i've done nothing wrong, i'm actually agreeing with your fans on this, i think he's a **** referee who gives all the decisions to the home team
Just watching the highlights and its 100% penalty to Walcott. Clearly not offside but I think its the lino rather than the ref who got it wrong.
Toledo Trumpton - If you keep repeating the same thing over and over eventually you will convince yourself it's true. Jesus wept this should be called the sour grapes thread.
I don't think that any football fan would want a referee to accumulate this kind record as referee against any team. As far as I am concerned it casts a shadow over the whole league. No sane person can look at this record and call it a coincidence. Honestly you are a biased Spurs supporter so I don't expect anything better, but seriously, if Dean refereed every Arsenal game, we would have been relegated every year for the last three years with a record low points total, a record low goals scored and a record high goals against. That is honestly what we are talking about. It is a complete and utter disgrace that it has been allowed to go on so long.
But the way you are carrying on its like you are absolving any blame from a poor performance by your team and looking for a scapegoat. I can understand your frustration, we have had similar results with certain referees but believe me it happens to all teams with a particular referee. It's just the way it is. If you went on most boards I bet every team would suggest a ref who seemingly "has it in" for their team. Good ref or bad ref Arsenal should have had enough to beat Blackburn at home. I'm not taking the piss, we lost to Leeds but I accepted we were **** that game and they wanted it more than us.
Actually crackerman, whilst I will point out where refs make mistakes against us as any fan does, I'm not one to pass the buck and blame refs for our poor performances. But, the stats with Dean in charge of our games is worrying. There is something not right there. I wouldn't call him out and out Bent, but he clearly has a bias, whether it's conscious or not.
Did you watch the whole of the game and do you watch every Arsenal game in full and not just the highlights? You need to watch all of every game in order to see how refs use soft decisions to have a huge impact on possession and territory. Its quite easy, they just give fouls to Arsenal in our own half and not when we're attacking and then give fouls against us in dangerous positions. I even remember at least three times when refs have celebrated goals against Arsenal. Then add to that when refs walk off laughing and joking with our opposition and I think there is plenty of evidence. In fact if I won £100m or so on the lottery I might spend a bit of it suing the PL for causing stress by allowing unfair refereeing and put together a video case for it so the jury have to watch 100's of hours of football....or I might find somethng bettter to do.
This wasn't really aimed at you Piskie as you on the whole have a fairly balanced view. Making a comment about poor refereeing is one thing but some of your fellow fans on here seem to have convinced themselves the reason you lost yesterday was solely down to the referee and that is simply not true. Being a top 4 premier league team you should have enough to beat a championship team at home even with a supposedly bias referee against you.
I didn't see the game yesterday, so I can't comment. But I have seen Dean in action too many times officiating Arsenal games to brush it off as coincidence. The guy ****ing hates us and his bias is becoming all to obvious.
Crackerman Jack is correct. This blaming of the ref is embarrassing. Since when did our fan base start to sound like the spuds? We lost yesterday and it was **** all to do with the ref. End of!
Bloody hell I am Gooner that has to be the most unbelievable thing I have ever read on this forum. Most fans watch their own teams games with rose tinted specs on and could list loads of poor decisions against their teams. You have a massive chip on your shoulder. Saying that 3 refs celebrated goals against you is so ridiculous. Find some video evidence to back this up and then I'll believe it. You are making yourselves look completely bitter and a massive sore loser with this attitude.
Well, now you are starting to be concerned. At least we have managed to make you concerned. So NOW you are worried. It's "Unbelievable". You can look at that record of the ref againt Arsenal and it is easier to believe that he is impartial and yet we have failed to win 9/10 games, a lot of it (with respect) against vastly inferior opposition by shear coincidence, than believe what the overwhelming evidence would show, that he is in some way biased. For me, it is "Unbelievable" that he isn't biased in some way. Let's just make it completely clear. We don't just not get a decision now and again. These calls actually affect the outcome of the game, virtually every time. So much so that had he refereed every game Arsenal played, we would be embarassingly relegated every single year instead of being a top 4 club. For me that is what is "Unbelievable". Only in Britain where we have a traditition of "grinning and bearing it" would anyone get away with this crap. The FA in Italy would have stopped appointing him to games for his own safety. But here we start to pick on the people pointing out how ****ing "Unbelievable" his record is. I'm going to use the term Occam's Razor" here. It is far more probable, given the evidence, that Mike Dean is bent than some mind-boggling, statistical anomoly has occurred. At least you have to conceed that? Or do you have such faith in the integrity of the FA that you believe they would never let him get away with it?
