Passed the ball around nicely , opposition doing little in the way of tackling and when they did get it they just gave it straight back.

Really should have won by a big margin.

Bristol City are going down if they keep playing like that. Ok they are a poor side but there was little or no fight. It was if theyd given up before they arrived.

    11 against 1 (Tom Heaton)

Its about time we put a team out of sight.

After the gift of an own goal (otherwise top display from young Nugent) it would only take 1 lucky bounce in the box from a long ball to throw away the win.

As it was easy match for the players.

Much , much harder game on Tuesday - cant wait!

Malky was full of praise for Nugent, and put the slip up down to experience. Reminds me of the Adam Matthews own goal against Ipswich, and the totally different approach by Dave Jones. Never played again for us, but starred again today for Celtic?

    I was thinking the same.

    Malky is a class act.

Matthews should still be a Cardiff player.

malky is a consumate professional, he tends to put emotion to one side and stay out of the limelight when it comes to dealing with 'outsiders' / the media, if he thinks nugent ****ed up, then tell him in private. especially when it comes to younger players without the experience to shrug off public criticism.....

jones allowed his anger and disappointment to get the better of him on that occasion and it was a really poor, embarrassing piece of man management from him.

Good evening Hilts ,Masky and Swampy mates.....no grumbling from me. We were outplayed, outclassed and out scored by a far better team. Enjoy your time in the prem and hopefully we will be only one league below you (cue great escape theme!).
Not there myself as I am on a dirty weekend with she what must be obeyed in sunny Dorset, but just read all the available info to get enough of a picture.
Good luck for the rest of the season and do try to beat all the bottom teams for us!
rest assured I will be one of the first wurzels to come here and congratulate you in a few months time....

Thing is it's not hard to be good in a Celtic team in the SPL, he came on in the Europe tie this week and was crap and Joe did not even get a game, doubt they would get into our reserve side, not many sides at Celtic's door for either player.

Agreed DJR, before he came on Celtic's right back was a real threat to Juve. Once Matthews came on, threat gone and ball given away almost every time he was involved. His main contribution was "long throws" which landed just in front of the six yard box. He was poor.

Matthews may have starred yesterday but that was in the SPL, 'nuff said.

To me Nugent looks a much better prospect and he will learn from yesterday's one error.

But would Matthews be a different player under Malky's guidance? Always liked him when he played for Cardiff, but one mistake and a bad game, and DJ's toys went out of the pram.

Not sure Exile, to me players go to SPL because they want it easy, they have little drive.

Would many of them last a season in the Championship with very few easy games, I doubt it.

Blue, without looking it up, it was even until the OG., and Chopra headed one in, 0-2 I think!

Mathews was always over rated when he was with us. Remember all the talk of a £5m bid at the time.
Often caught ball watching when he played.
Scottish football is about his level.

Not sure about him Hilts, as I've not kept up with his SPL career.

He showed he could attack down the right when he was here, but his lack of defensive awareness let him down.

To be fair, he was just a young lad forced into the side by our financial circumstances at the time and had the guts ripped out of him by Jones. As classic an example of just how not to treat a young player after a bad game as you'll ever see.

Is he any better now - and a better option than Connolly? Don't watch SPL stuff so don't really know. From what I remember of him though, he would have had to improve a lot to be even considered as a starting option.

Would barely make our bench now. Nowhere near good enough for the premiership.
