"Yeah, I saw the otherday he got injured. He's out for a couple of months, I think." Was wondering what kind of injury. He wasn't using crutches, but obviously the brace is to stop certain kinds of movement of the leg.
Torn ankle ligaments. Very disappointing for the lad, he has fully deserved this opportunity. Peterborough had given him and his girlfriend a club house to stay in just outside the town and he had made an encouraging start. The plan is to send him back there when he is fit again, but he's probably at least a month away from that.
Hoffenheim lost 1 - 0 yesterday although Gomes looked the best player on the pitch. There was nothing he could have done about the goal (after 3 minutes). He was getting really frustrated trying to throw the ball out quickly but none of his team awake enough to receive. Hoffenheim look dire.
http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...rs-youngster-to-top-of-the-class-8500997.html Long article in the Standard on Mason who is on loan at Lorient.
"Former *Arsenal forward Jeremie Aliadiere still speaks English well and has been a friendly face." Mason will have his work cut out for him making enough chances for him to put away! Maybe he's got over the eternal injuries and got his career back together, though. Nice to see the youngster talking about getting into the Spurs team next season. Sounds like the door's still open. Hard ask for him, in my opinion.
Wasn't aware he was so highly rated at Spurs, but from the sound of it, he might have the chance to progress if this loan works out well. Certainly seems to have a decent attitude both on and off the pitch, so wish him well with Lorient.
Bostock seems to have done pretty well in his first game for the San Jose Earthquakes. Played an hour, got an assist and impressed, apparently. Couldn't find highlights, but here's the whole bloody game, if anyone's really, really bored: Can't get the video to start where I want it to, so skip to 1.55.11 for the goal.
Good article on Mason, he seems to have his head in the right place. Fairly well grounded, kind of mindset you want if your going to make it in the PL. And having more cultured players can only be of a benefit to the team. Nice to know he's crossing the whole country to support us too; shows a real devotedness for the club.
Signed a new contract too, as did Jordan Archer. I've heard that Kane actually wanted to go back to Millwall, who would've welcomed his return, but Villas-Boas wanted him to join a club pushing for promotion. No idea if it's true, but I heard it last night and this has happened today. Seems plausible, at least.
If he went Millwall he would have been guaranteed to start every week, he wont here. He will have to earn his place as we already have Chris Wood and David Nugent scoring goals. Albeit it's a very good signing for us I find it a little strange that you have allowed it
Are we just loaning out anyone that can play up front, then? Anyone want Coulthirst? The main area that we lack depth in and we're weakening it even further! Have Charlton got injuries up front or something, as they seem to have plenty of strikers, though they're not scoring much, admittedly? Can we bloody sign a freebie too, while we're at it? Darius Vassell's not busy!
