View attachment 21479 vs This Saturday see's us make the 400 mile round trip as we travel to the KC stadium to take on 2nd placed Hull City. The game earlier in the season was our first back at the valley in the Championship and was a 0-0 borefest. Last week we though we had won all 3 points with Kermorgant scoring late on only for Birmingham to again score a late equaliser this time from Wade Elliott. Hull had a midweek game on tuesday and beat Derby County 2-1 at home with goals from Gedo and El-Mohammady. The defence need to stay strong and make sure they are fully concentrating for the whole 90 minutes I've had enough of conceding late goals and it we need to put a stop to it. We've dropped 7 points in the last 3 games late on from winning positions and them 7 points would of seen us up to 7th in the league. This will be a tough game but neither team is in convincing form as both have only won 3 games since the turn of the year although Hull have played more games.
A draw would be a very good result but a win would not surprise me considering our away performances this season. I agree with fuller over yann aswell as he seems to have built up his fitness and is looking very dangerous. I'm not sure about the bench tho, why two left wingers and three defenders? I'd suggest bwp and green over either dervite or Taylor and kerkar.
Nice one again Belv. I'll assume Haynes is not fit even though he was on the bench 2 weeks ago. I expect The Doctor to go 4-4-2 but make 2 changes, Pritchard for Wilson, whose performances have dropped, and Wiggins for Evina.
I'd give Wilson a rest. He's lost confidence for some reason. I think we will lose this one although hull have been hit or miss at home recently (sounds familiar). We played well last week but I think the late goal will have knocked confidence. A fruitless trip I rather fear.
Slightly off topic but about Hull City. They have by a very large margin the busiest forum in the championship on not606.I have noticed that some clubs dont use the forum at all but even those that are enthusiastic are way behind Hull.We have 2185 threads and 45905 posts .Hull have 11000 threads and 262878 .I would be interested to hear from Hull fans as to why it is so popular with you.Perhaps the question should be why is it not more popular with the rest of the championship clubs?
Hoping Charlton win on sat for obvious reasons being a LCFC fan and looking forward to your visit to King Power Stadium tues night Good luck for sat
I don't think I've predicted a loss this season, but I can't see anything but this time out. I think Hull are going up with Cardiff and we're simply going to be another rung on the ladder on Saturday. 2-0 to the stripey ones, I fear. Can't fault that team, Belvedere, but I'd like to see some constructive use of substitutes - well there's always a first time, isn't there? Don't worry Fox, Leicester up via the play-offs.
I hope Charlton win at the KC and the KP. Feel like some peanuts now, and some 80s music. Hull to win this one
Good evening boys, Hull fan in peace here. Would like to say I expect a good game on Saturday but sadly our pitch is not looking great and we have gone from playing some of the best football in the division to being fairly disjointed and predictable in recent games. On Tuesday night against Derby we were very static in the first half, and playing without an out and put striker meant that there were no decent forward runs. However at half time Bruce brought on the new boy Gedo and changed from 3-5-2 to 4-4-2. Gedo looked just what we need, scoring within the first 90 seconds and showing great movement, speed and strength. Bruce says he will start on Saturday so he may be one to watch. We are still missing our most talented player and top scorer in Sone Aluko so don't have many options up top. In terms of our full line-up I would play: ----------------Stockdale------------------ --------McShane Hobbs Chester----------- --Elmohamady Meyler Koren Quinn Brady-- --------------Simpson Gedo---------------- In terms of your team who are the players to watch? and how have you been playing recently? Good luck for the rest of the season apart from us obviously, and especially at the KP on Tuesday
Welcome Wilson.Whilst we love our wonderful manager it seems as if you are tormenting us by telling of a clever substitution that turned the game in your favor. We dream of such a moment.
Belv. Please do not let us start Pritch on the right.... he does not have the pace to play there from the start and by doing this we lose a good sub to bring on from the bench. It would be far better to play Haynes or Greeny there and have Pritch to either start in the centre or come on in the second half from the bench. My prediction for the game is 1-1 with a late goal...... although I am not sure for whom? Thanks for your info Wilson
The game at The.Valley earlier this season was one of the worst I've seen, heavy rain made the pitch unplayable, shame to hear Hull's pitch doesn't look good, gonna go for a smash and grab 1-0 win for us.
BBC is reporting that he's aggravated his thigh strain - then again they've just reported the downfall of the Holy Roman Empire, so this may be a little out of date.
It's probably because we are sad and have nothing better to do As regards todays match, this is one of those games that we would expect to win but then balls it up. I'll go for 1-1. Good luck on Tuesday
Afternoon all Charlton: Hamer, Solly, Morrison, Cort, Evina, Wilson, Pritchard, Stephens, Jackson, Fuller, Kermorgant Subs: Button, Dervite, Taylor, Wiggins, Wagstaff, Haynes, Wright-Phillips Looks like Jacko on the left. Hmmm.
Looks like CP has got to learn that no berth is sacrosanct not even the skipper. Waggy played better on the the left wing than Jacko has done all season and with Wilson on the right it doesnt look good again for Danny G.
