A long 82 days to go until the start of the season -one of the most eagerly anticipated for a few seasons. What are you most looking forward to about the championship.

Im looking forward to the fixtures being released on June 17 and the release of the new kit.

will be great to get better attendences, not to have to travel to Carlisle and getting 6 points of pompey.

What is most exciting for me is that we 1 step away from the premier league

personally looking forward to the West Ham fixtures, Forest games and Palace matches.

Anything you are particularly looking forward too? Anything you are going to miss from league 1?

I am looking forward to the Championship. It is an exciting if not unpredictable league.

For me the most important thing is to do better than our nearest local rivals BHA and Reading FC and to do well against this seasons front runners in the league as well as those relegated from the Premiership as thay will have the resources.

Don't forget that there are one or two very poor (money and team wise) sides in the Championship who still play in old and antiquated stadia in front of very poor crowds (numbers and quality wise) by comparison with our very high standards.

I am really excited about playing W Ham, Leeds, Reading, BHA, Millwall, Forest all of whom are good sides.

I can't wait for the fixture list to come out so that I can identify those clubs that will be a threat to us, those that are there to make up the numbers and then the doomed of which I can think of at least one already.

well said Godders - its very much the not knowing how Saints are going to do - relegation, mid-table or pushing for playoffs/promotion. so hard to predict.

With the structure we have in place i think we will be pushing for playoffs.

Lets see if we can keep our winning run going.

i forgot about leeds - should be good and i think BHA will struggle.

    Roll on August 6th

There has been some fun going to some "not so top quality" football establishments in League One (Rochdale, Tranmere,Exeter), but I am glad that little jolly is now over; two seasons was more than enough thanks. I do think that next season will be tough and that we'll need to recruit some quality and pace to do well next season. We have several players strong enough to compete in this league, but also some who may struggle.

Just for pure revenge, I would like to win in the play-off semi away at Pride Park next season, with a dodgy last minute penalty.

Would you get on the pitch and rub it in their faces too? :)

I'm really looking forward to the season and roll-on June 17th so I can plan my family time and football time!

We've got several players that will thrive in the next tier, but I agree we do have some that could struggle - unfortunately, and I might be wrong, but I think Hammond and Lambert could fit in to that category

Hammond may still be a good stopper in midfield in that league, I hope so. I have heard loads of negativity about Lambert in the Championship, but I think he'll be a success, maybe not in terms og goals, but in how he'll hold the ball up for us when we've been under pressure. What we will need with him, is someone with blistering pace.

Anyone watching the latter end of the season would have seen a different Lambo, he is less interested in increasing his own tally, but more minded to setting others up, he has added to his armoury with deft free kicks, and much better movement off the ball. Any reference to pie eating are null and void, his physique is in far better condition than most of the squad.

I think it was the Peterborough home game before Christmas when I was horrified to hear the absue he was getting from the crowd around me. His movement that day was excellent and he created so much for the other players.

Spot on SaintDon, he will be an asset next season.

Lambert will be a star next season as he was this season. Hammond will hold his own too.

I'm looking forward to playing without the fear of pressure. It would be nice to go straight up, but it's far from the end of the world if we don't and Adkins' job isn't riding on it. The big pressure will be on Leicester and West Ham, which could work into our hands, like it did for Norwich this season.

I agree, a lot more rounded this season and a massive contributor to the squad and maybe that's happened as Nigel realises that will be important in the Championship next season.
I've never been a Lambert knocker, nor any player for that matter, I was merely pointing out that I wonder if a couple of them might struggle next season and used those 2 as an example as they have been key contributors this season

Lambert can play more than some people give him credit for. There are tons of players who aren't that quick who use their other attributes to good effect. He's far from the pieman who just wins headers and scores goals. He still does that as well though, which is a bonus!
