****ing hell, they are now taking to defending the Egyptian league. First it was the german 2nd divison and now this.

Here's a tip. There is a pretty high chance then when you sign someone from a **** league that the player is going to be ****. Dont pin your hopes on them as things will go wrong

Yeah, I've given up now!

This is like pulling teeth.

The African Cup of Nations is a ****ing heap of steaming ****. You know full well.

You only have to look at the calibre of the players that take part in it to know that's utter bollocks. Of course it's not the same level as the World Cup or the Euros or even the Copa America but being the top scorer in it and/or winning it is still a great achievement.

How many people from Hull have won a golden boot at a world cup?

This is pointless arguing. You're clearly going to pull the wool over your eyes about it.

No doubting there are some top class players in the competition. But the overall standard is painfully poor.

The final is tomorrow, Nigeria play Burkino Faso. Going by FIFA rankings it's 52nd vs 92nd.

Another thread turned into a pointless one I see. <steam>

Unfortunately so.

Hull fans come over here to try and wind us up and when we give it back they just moan. So ****ing boring.

Right then petty arguing over.

Who do people want to see replace Wood

Futacs- Big man and most simaliar to Wood out of the options Nigel has
Vardy- Started the season well but has been very ineffective for the last few months
Waghorn- He was superb before Christmas until he had his appendix removed. While he was recovering Chris Wood came in and nailed down a shirt
Dyer- We can change the formation a little and move either Marshall or Knockaert behind Nugent
Gallagher- Play him behind Nugent
James/Wellens- Play a holding midfielder allowing King and Drinkwater the freedom to bomb forward. With Knockaert and Marshall/Dyer Nugent wouldnt lack support

So there are Nigel's options. Which would you do. I would bring Dyer in and put Knockaert behind Nugent

This one. I really want to see him playing the number 10 role.

Stick big Wes up top and bring in SSL at the back lol. On a serious note though, I expect Waghorn to be given the nod ahead of Futacs and Vardy. He was in tremendous form as you say and he will have a point to prove. Still "should" have enough to win the game, but as we all know, what "should" happen in the Championship, often does not!!!

Interesting to see the Hull fan that "always posts on here" is back because we've had a minor setback. Talk about desperation! Wood being out doesn't alter the fact we have the best defence in the league and a very capable striker in Nugent still. Should be enough to beat Peterborough.

The truth is, if Wood was going to get injury this season, then now is the time. Bottom of the league and FA Cup games - perfect time for our reserve strikers to step up.

I'll take that as a no then ...

I'm afraid that's not true, but then, very little you post is Proud. You do remember banning me and telling me to only post on one thread don't you? <laugh> Now you proceed to criticise me for not posting frequently enough <doh>

So why are you posting on this thread, genius? <ok>

I would say "nice to see you back", but then I'd be lying, and where would that get us?

Thank you gangsta, finally someone talking sense

I think we all know that with the amount of games left to play all the teams at the top will suffer from set backs.

That might be a dip in form or the loss of a key player or two through injury, I can't see it being plain sailing for any of the teams chasing promotion.

It's how you cope with those set backs that matter, my opinion is that Leicester have got a squad capable if accommodating the loss of Wood and still be very much in the mix for the automatics.

I also think it's a bit lame to say our season depends wholly on Gedo.
We've found ourselves in a healthy position without him and even if he doesn't make any impact who's to say we can't push on for automatic?

It's going to be close and when all is said and done the table would suggest that there's little between the two teams.

Granted you have the momentum at the moment but as we all know things can change quickly in football.

Very interesting times indeed.

Woods will be missed but you have the squad to cover. You won't be as good without him but should cope.

We need Gedo to hit the ground running:we can't keep relying on the midfield to score (but if we play 3 - 7 - 0 then the midfielders have to score)

Interesting to hear two very contrasting opinions from Hull fans.

It's why football is such a great game.;)

Don't get me wrong it would help us massively and if ( big if) Gedo has the impact Wood had for you I'd be very confident of top two.

If he doesn't we won't have turned into a poor team and with a bit of luck will still be up there.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is we are lacking firepower but can hopefully still maintain a challenge even if Gedo does a Prozzy.

No pun intended.
