I know the name but am sadly unaware of their work. Looking at wiki they seem interesting - any top songs to recommend?
As far as Scottish bands go, I loved the Beta Band (and the offshoots - Aliens, Steve Mason etc) and have got a Camera Obscura album recently.
If you want REALLY weird then try listening to 'Gong' (After taking acid their music is allegedly even stranger but somehow makes more sense......or so I'm told)

Or anything by Sigur Ros, another brilliant band, if you can avoid trying to pronounce the names of their tracks.
Top man !!! Just looked some of their stuff up and.......wow
A truly beautiful sound with a very haunting vocal. Will definately listen to some more...thanks for the recomendation.
Brilliant arn't they, Sigur Ros is Icelandic for Victory Rose BTW. You may recognise some of their instrumentals as they are used for adverts and trailers occasionally. Look up Hoppipola, you will know that tune for sure.

I thought I recognised the tune from somewhere but couldn't think where.
Gonna definately get the album 'Takk'.....That song 'Saeglopur' is really amazing.
Thanks again mate![]()
Some great recommendations (or hope they will be).
Cheers Iwasa, Staines and WBA2.
A couple of final ones from me (ironing to do). Check out Toy's eponymous debut - sound like a sedated Sonic Youth meets the Smith Westerns. Also Radlands by the Mystery Jets.
Is this a wind up thread. i thought I listened to most types of music & had a basic knowledge of most of it but, I haver NEVER heard of ANY of the bands mentioned on this thread??!!
Cant we stick to Kylie & Jason or something?
