If you want REALLY weird then try listening to 'Gong' (After taking acid their music is allegedly even stranger but somehow makes more sense......or so I'm told :) )

Tracey-Anne from Camera Obscura has an amazing voice, love their song If Looks Could Kill, have all their stuff. FR released an album this week and it's very good. Try the Midnight Organ Fight first perhaps, or The Winter of Mixed Drinks.

Or anything by Sigur Ros, another brilliant band, if you can avoid trying to pronounce the names of their tracks.

Welcome to the "drunken embarrassing thread" club Cerny. ...... But at least all I did was tell you all how much I loved you all. ....which is obviously something you didn't try tonight........

Often works better than forking out for a drink

Bit gutted they beat the Maccabees to the Mercury Music Prize but they are very good.

By the way, I took your advice and got the Vengeance trilogy but haven't found time to watch them.

I had seen Man Bites Dog (highly amusing).

Thought I'd get back to you on the last film thread because I never did but meant to. :)

Brilliant arn't they, Sigur Ros is Icelandic for Victory Rose BTW. You may recognise some of their instrumentals as they are used for adverts and trailers occasionally. Look up Hoppipola, you will know that tune for sure.

I've got their 'med Sud i eyrum vid spilium endalaust' album which is pretty epic tbh

If you want film madness try 'Tetsuo II : body hammer' saw it at the ICA many years ago. The product of a warped mind

The fantastic music used on Planet Earth trailers. My brother lent me the album but I lost it - amazing sound.

Some great recommendations (or hope they will be ;) ).

    Cheers Iwasa, Staines and WBA2.

A couple of final ones from me (ironing to do). Check out Toy's eponymous debut - sound like a sedated Sonic Youth meets the Smith Westerns. Also Radlands by the Mystery Jets.

Who would of thought that through our Cernys drunken ramblings, I would be introduced to some great new music, Sigur Ros (puts me in a great mood and chilled even getting the brood ready for school & nursery).

AND it got me into getting my old Gong CD out and realising how brilliant they truly are (Woud you like some tea ?)

Yappy- I will be looking into your suggestions as soon as I get a chance :)
