Now before anyone starts ranting and raving about this article I want to make it known that I do not necessarily believe the information I have been told, and I also don't like articles speculating about possible transfers. However, despite this, I have a close mate on a weeks work experience at the daily echo. Now I know the daily echo are a fairly poor excuse for a local paper but despite their bad relationship with Cortese, press officer Jordan Sibley does have contact with them. Supposedly Chamberlain is on his way out, Arsenal 'most likely' however he said aparently Cortese wants him to go to United. He also said he heard a phone call regarding some 'report' with nigel adkins and told me five other players are on their way out but I have no clue who these are. This is all I've been told, whether true or not I don't know. To be honest, if Chamberlain is off, I would be fairly happy. The ã5 or ã10 million or whatever fee we get would easily buy a few quality championship players, or even go towards high wages for free agents? In regard to the other 5 players, I can't imagine these being in the ilk of Lambert/Fonte etc but maybe Seabourne, Mills type players? Have to wait and see I suppose, not saying that what the daily echo know is true, however I thought I would relay what I know to you all!
I doubt Cortese would "want" chambo to go anywhere, and as shown in January he will resist all offers
Here we go againââ¬Â¦........ My sons mates sisters mum whose older brothers cousins sister, says that her uncles nephews father in-laws best mates brother said that his sister knows someone at SMS that heard a rumour fromââ¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦yeah right . All things are done in house & in private these days, the way it should be, and these days I only believe it when I see it on the OS, usually posted just after midnight these days.
Did you not read what I wrote? I said I do not believe the information I heard but thought that I would put it on here as it might interest some people. If you don't agree or believe it then don't have a pop! He's a mate on my uni course, not mates sisters father in law whatever blah blah. Like I said, its the daily echo and they are a poor excuse of a paper. Was merely trying to strum up some intellectual debate at the possibility of a chamberlain transfer and who could come in to replace players.. not to be moaned at.
Seriously, even if you did mean well (and I'm sure you did), this was always going to be the reaction you would get. 90% of us just don't care. Sorry if that sounds harsh, it's not meant to. We spent all January putting up with it, and nothing happened. It he goes, he goes - nothing we can do about it. But we've all experienced enough of Cortese by now to know that speculation over pretty much anyting should be ignored. Only news that we actually put up ourselves on the official website do I listen.
There's a sticky for rumours btw! We released 13 last year, none of them star players, so there's probably not much to worry about. The Chamberlain situation is out of our hands and as shown when he was injured we can cope without him, so good luck to him whatever his decision is. As for Sibley, he probably doesn't know himself about transfer matters.
You are right Brendy........ we haven't even begun to go down the rumours road yet......And SGMI.......Don't take the replies to heart as you've stated you don't believe the rumours. Although you felt we should know that a conversation was over heard. Between now and until the transfer window closes there are going to be literally hundreds of rumours some with foundation most with out. Gives us all something to talk about at best. Should be interesting if not frustrating in the coming couple of months.
I think we know enough about our manager and chairman to know that they act decisively, and quietly. They do not go down the pub and tell their mates what's maybe happening or might come off. I think we should follow their example, but like others I love the format of these posts; Report rumour, identifying tenuous source. Say you don't believe it yourself but..... Say it's a service to fans, please don't shoot the messenger. Have I missed any steps?
My dog's aunties dead rabbit, who once used a dentist in Miami, knows of a parrallel universe where a monkey fishman sits on a big chair and hamsters run through his hair as raspberry jam dribbles from his nose and into the mouth of a 16 foot tall lizard called Geoff. Now, this Geoff, who has no brain, no ears and no eyes, told a green blackbird that communicates with him via a trembling piano that he overhead a bloke in the Echo who is friends with his own ankle that Saints are selling every player for ã16.24 tomorrow.
Brendy, I think there's a typo. Surely instead of any you meant: 'all of their players, their stadium and their training facilities'. Plus you'd still have enough change left over to go to the cinema, get the train home and have a slap up meal at the local chippy. In all seriousness, somebody on work experience at the echo must be the worst alleged 'source' (or should that be sauce) ever. I'm not doubting his/her existence, just that you cannot really say they are within Cortese's circle of trust.
