We had just lost 3 - 1 at home to Blackpool, were 3rd in the Championship, with 50 points from 29 games and from our next 11 games we would gain only 11 points with 2 wins and 5 draws. We scraped into the play offs with 4 wins and 2 draws in April and a very tired, jaded team. What a difference a year makes!!! Nothing being taken for granted though. In my view we still need another 27 points from 17 games to secure top spot and 23/24 points to guarantee promotion.
That's exactly what I reckon. Nine wins and we win the league. As you say we looked very tired from this stage onwards last season. This time we have plenty of options to freshen up the team without weakening it.
yep i`d say we look as fresh as the day we started......roll on the next nine games so we can enjoy the other eight bluebirds!!
So, if we perform as badly as we did last season ("we would gain only 11 points with 2 wins and 5 draws. We scraped into the play offs with 4 wins and 2 draws in April") we will get promoted - as 25 points added to 63 makes 88. Enough ..... surely?
ale ale we want more ale all the boys are cheering so get the fking beers in im getting excited lads>>>>>>even if i cant afford 2 go down next year.......
At the moment we look like getting more points away than at home. We've left the fortress and started driving to matches in a tank it seems.
I think our home form will get back on track with a vengance, as for away, we seem to be grinding results out very nicely. We are not pretty on the eye most of the time, but who cares if it gets us to the promised land.
