In the interests of fairness and to prove I donât have an anti-Celtic bias, I would like to make mention of the appalling sectarian chanting indulged in yesterday by Dundee United fans.
The cry of âGo home ya huns!â could be heard clearly on the television by those watching.
Presumably, the volume control filter deployed by television stations to drown out sectarian chants by Celtic fans was not in use yesterday.
âHunâ is a sectarian term and clearly illegal in the way it was used yesterday.
No-one is suggesting that Tayside Police attempt to arrest thousands of people at one go. However, such bigoted behaviour should surely be condemned by Dundee United, the media and the authorities. Yes? No?
And surely the SPL and the SFA should be looking at punishments for the club, given such a mass display of sectarian sentiment?
Perhaps TV personality and famous Arab Lorraine Kelly could lead the way on her morning time show by roundly condemning the bigotry shown by thousands of people in the city where she residesâ¦
