(AMuS)The official version of Mercedes is now: electrical problem. Supposedly the smoke came only from excessive heat under the cowling. In the first photograph is however clearly a flame visible.

That isn't good when you consider the track is only 10c...

According to @F1TodayLive Grosjean came in after his quick run with some front tyre degredation. He was on medium tyres.
 
I hear that Mercedes updated it but so far it looks like it didn't work better for McLaren. Bit like with the alternators being owned by Ferrari...
