Rosberg not sounding too confident with the season ahead: Nico Rosberg does not expect Mercedes to repeat its early-season form from 2012 when this year's Formula 1 campaign gets underway in Australia. Mercedes was one of the form teams at the start of last year, culminating in Rosberg winning the Chinese Grand Prix in April. But the F1 W03 fell off the pace as the year went on, and the German believes that the size of the gap to the leaders at the end of 2012 makes a strong start to this year unlikely. "I'm confident, but to start the season as we did last year, being one of the fastest cars? Not so confident," Rosberg told reporters following the launch of the 2013 F1 W04. "The gap was quite big at the end of last year, and first we need to close that gap. "That's our main target for the start of the season, and I'm very confident we will manage to achieve that. "Then the big improvement needs to be in the rate of development, because last year we really flattened off in the middle of the season." Rosberg got a chance to try the new car on Monday morning when he performed a few laps for filming purposes ahead of the official launch, and he was happy with how it felt. "It was a great start this morning, everything went to plan," he said. "It was all good and I could push straight away. "The car was balanced well, so it was a very good start. As a result I look forward to driving a full test day tomorrow. "We've made a big step over the winter. The team is working better in the factory, everything is improving." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/105397
Give it a while and Benson will realise what he has done and correct his mistakes. I did enjoy reading the comments (Its rare for comments to be allowed on a subject that involves LH! )
Trust me on this, the same thing was said late 2010, into 2011 and 2012. "There are a lot of differences (from the 2012 car) - aerodynamically, obviously, around the back it is quite different and the nose section aerodynamically and visually is much better. Those are really the main things, but this car is a big, big step forward for us." Mixed messages.
please log in to view this image Lewis driving his first non-McLaren. Im going to spend all season perpetually unsure if its him or Rosberg at any given moment.
ESPN F1 ‏@ESPNF1 The Mercedes has come to a halt at the end of the pit straight, might have broken down... Racecar Engineering ‏@RacecarEngineer @f1fanatic_co_uk Nope it was pushed back followed by the emergency vehicles. I think it broke. I told you this would be like the W02.
False alarm, all is well ESPN F1 ‏@ESPNF1 Hamilton says the reason he stopped was because Mercedes ran the car out of fuel on purpose as part of procedure.
Rosberg has silver markings in the centre of his helmet in between the monster sponser. Hamilton has the monster sponser with no silver markings, just look for the Senna colours.
Shh my advice was better than your nonsense. Ps that was more simpler hahaha Isn't it weird seeing Hammy in a Mercedes.
Standard Procedure for Mercedes to break down? Or Standard Procedure for Lewis to run out of fuel? wooops!!!
Lol I saw what you did there Ok in Political correct way of saying it, African British Yellow and Caucasian European Yellow
Well, I must say the new Mercedes machine looks a bit of a monster, good luck Lewis, Gary Anderson is not that impressed either, so it could be a hard year for Hamilton.
The Mercedes looks too conservative, I see Aldo Costa still hasn't learnt. I'm so glad Ferrari fired him, he can evolve an already strong car, but can't innovate or be agressive. They gave him a whole new set of rules for 2009 and the best he could come up with was the aerodynamically basic F60. Mercedes must keep him away from their 2014 designs!
