Just seen an interview with Hamilton where he confirmed it is an evolution of the 12 car (which I believe was an evolution of the 11 car and that of the 10) so we will basically be able to see how he does with the cars Rosberg and Schumacher have had.

Will be good to see them make a completely new car in 14 though.

In fact its an evolution of a Tyrrell! <ok>

Not a good sign on a car that needed more than just evolutionary change.

For everything Hamilton is saying about 2013 being a settling/learning year etc, if the car is crap he will be mightly pissed off.

Brawn says the expect a step up in performance, but they need more than that. A totally new car was needed as the previous versions simply weren't good enough.

More discouragement from the techy's, this time Gary Anderson puts the boot in

""At first glance I can't see where the 'step change in performance' Mercedes are talking about is going to come from with their new car.

"There are a few changes here and there, but not necessarily in ways that look like they will be a big advantage.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula-one/21322248

"One area that is definitely working a bit harder is the front brake ducts, which are more elaborate.

"The nose has the allowed 'vanity panel' to hide the height difference between nose tip and chassis. If you put little ridges on either side of the nose, that can help prevent air spilling over the side. But the way Mercedes have designed their nose it looks like it will exacerbate that problem, which affects the aerodynamics detrimentally.

"The sidepods have a raised outer edge. It's aimed at getting air to the rear but it creates lift, and then there are turning vanes on top to reduce the lift. So that confuses me a little.

"They are trying to use the exhaust for aerodynamic effect at the back, but there is an awful lot of bodywork back there which will block the airflow and reduce the effectiveness of the 'coke-bottle' shape, which is what gives overall downforce, as opposed to the on-throttle downforce you get from the exhausts.

"Unlike the McLaren, which looked a step forward in every area, I wouldn't necessarily say I'm seeing anything too exciting about the Mercedes."

I dont think Rosberg will be that bothered if they are. It will suit him better if they are running around with a reflective pace of 8th-12th because the point difference between him and Lewis wont be that great!

I'm smelling 6th best car at the start, maybe at worst 7th just by looking at the cars.

McLaren=RBR=Ferrari > Lotus=Sauber >> Mercedes=Williams >> FI=Toro Rosso >> Caterham=Marussia

Have you seen Benson's article?
Oh just seen your post BLS, obviously Lewis is the only one that turned up ahahahaha
