me too..and through the film too, but yep, you will criticise it...but at the end of the day it's Les Mis..and though it's not the version we know and love...it's still Les Mis and for that..i loved it!
I reckon every kid in years 10 and 11 should be made to watch 'Schindler's List', and years 7 - 9 watch 'The Boy In Striped Pyjamas'. Then they may realise just how lucky they are, and how grateful they should be, instead of moaning how hard done by they are and how life isn't fair.
amen to that. my kids watched The boy in the striped pyjamas, and my elder daughter has seen Schindler's list...admittedly, their background dictates that they knew about these things anyway..but they were incredibly moved...both books are incredible...and the films did them justice...
Excellent film and put over in such a way that younger kids could understand. The same with the book. Brilliantly written. Must admit, the book of Schindler's List/Ark, was hard going to read, but so fascinating that I couldn't put it down. Many times I vowed to read a few pages at night only to find at 5 or 6 in the morning I was still reading. I was fortunate - if that's the right word, maybe privileged - to go and visit Belsen when I was in Germany. Fascinating, horrific, moving, scary, couldn't understand why it happened. I felt all of those emotions. Even the birds don't seem to fly over that place.
i'm hoping, if that's the right word..to visit Auschwitz in the not too distant future...somehow...i am drawn to go...
Just got to the most moving part of the film. Where the workers give him the letter and gold ring inscribed in Hebrew, and he says he could have got more out. No doubt you can guess the state of me now H
I might 'treat' myself one day. To me they are more fascinating than the visits to the trenches, and they are something special as well. Blurry heck H. We're a bit serious for the brothel tonight aren't we?
One 'interesting' fact before I go for some much needed beauty sleep - about 30 years worth I should think. In a multipack of crisps, quavers, doritos etc, whatever the 'best by' date, the day will always be a Saturday. I was told this and didn't believe it. I had to go and buy a couple of multipacks to see if it was true. When it happened, I thought it was a coincidence. 20 mutlipacks later I was convinced Look forward to seeing how many of you have gone to find out if it's true, or if I am indeed nothing but a great big loveable fibbing old Hector
You could have had the grace to at least snigger at me not a full blown guffaw <gets his comfort blanky>
