Watched Berbatoss against Wet Spam and although his on the ball work was brilliant he looked totally shagged out.Not surprised he strained something. His expression was of a dead man walking!!!!

Right, calling it a night. Re-evaluating goals for the rest of the season, 6th or better would be good. Pretty dejected

If Simon Dawkins is good enough as a striker to come back to Villa on loan, then wouldn't he be worth just bringing back to us on the bench?

Oh well, at least we have what looks to be a top player for a snip in Holtby and have managed to offload a heap of deadwood into the bargain. With the Jan window always a bit of a lottery as to whether anyone coming in can actually settle in time to make a positive difference, then maybe that's not such a bad outcome.....(he said, still hoping that something happens in the next 45 mins!!)

Is Simon Dawkins a striker? Maybe we have bent coming back?

Dawkins' story is an unusual one. He started out as a striker with us and was released because he wasn't good enough. Drifted into lower league football and got a long term injury and asked our club if he could use our facilities to regain full fitness. We said yes, he impressed and was signed on a non-contract basis. He then played in a few training ground friendlies (in a more withdrawn role) and did well so we signed him on a full-time contract and then loaned him to a club in the American league. He was a bit of a star out there and returned to us a couple of months ago and has been in limbo ever since until his move to Villa tonight.

At least you signed Holtby, so not a totally bum january for you.

Thanks for making the fight for 4th easier by the way <ok>

That's Ironside.

SSN said Anzhi had offered £34M for Spurs target will.i.am. Are Spurs in the market for £34M players?

Spurs have just made a £4m loss, I don't think Levy will splashing the cash and certainly not for £30m+ players.

No, we'll leave that to your lot. :emoticon-0136-giggl Cavani, wasn't it?
Oxo-Cube's offered to put West Brom's star man up for the night, by the way: https://twitter.com/Alex_OxChambo/status/297109852344446976

Swapping Jenas for Holtby looks like good business, but how we've failed to pick up a striker is beyond me.
