Forren has played lb loads, so can easily play there, I said at the beginning of the transfer window if we sell Fox we shouldn't buy a replacement. Targett will be checked in pre season to see if he can handle it, if he can he will be Shaw's back up. No point in stopping him progress if he can prove himself.
May as well milk the Jonno Forte loan for all it's worth as its about the most exciting thing that's likely to happen today. Actually that's not true. I'm going to watch the latest episode of undateables later.
It was something that was mentioned on sky.....perhaps they were talking about the lower leagues as I didn't hear all the converstation .....sorry........
But assuming Forren will be our first choice CB then we are weakening ourselves in that position to play him at lb (if Shaw gets injured of course). I appreciate what your saying about Targett potentially breaking through next year, but keeping Fox until the Summer is surely better the weakening our position until the end of the season.
InnesMarlow (Saints Photographer) on Twitter: "Poised for deadline day action with @Wattsypics @MrSimonWilliams @JFBLucas @RichardEnsten Cameras as the ready...#saintsfc" All a tease I reckon.
And to think, they probably believed that they drew the choice assignment when drawing lots with the group that ended up at Villa Park.
Doubt anything will happen now, although there is usually one big transfer that breaks through in the last 2 hours. Lets just hope thats us!
Maybe not. But our priority has got to be our squad and having the strength in depths that we can replace players without weakening or disrupting our team too much. I don't think the money that Fox would attract would be a enough of an incentive to weaken our squad, particularly in the position we are in. But, it may happen. I don't know. On a personal level I'd rather keep him until the summer.
