Unless transfers are made exclusively by a transfer committee which doesnt include the manager, I would suggest that any player we were linked to in the past is very unlikely to sign now with MP in charge

Why? We have a team of scouts who identify targets, unless they have changed as well (they haven't) we will still have many of the same targets.

Wigan have been given permission to talk with Stone so he looks like he could go to a rival

EDIT ... only my 2nd post and I was beaten to it .... sob

Its almost not fair that Qpr can just throw money they dont have about, what was that about teams are meant to match their incomes?

Look I don't really give a **** about Samba. When I come on this thread I want to read about Saints possible transfers. Now granted there doesn't seem to a be a lot of Saints stuff going on. Well none that the media are aware of yet anyway. But why can't Samba be discussed on the non-Saints transfer thread?

It was and has been, looks like we will get no one anyways.

Do you believe the press or the owner?, I tend to side with the owner until I hear otherwise.

It's not a case of believing, it's a case of understanding there are variations on the truth. He may be correct to state the basic wage of £70k, but there will be a lot of extras he's not factoring into account. That's not "lying" exactly, but you're not getting the whole story. Samba was reportedly on £100k+ in Russia, and they have a more accommodating tax rate, it's naive to imagine he has halved his salary.

I'm putting this on the non-saints thread too so if anyone wants to continue this discussion, look there!
